is that a type of wood? i've never heard of it, nobody i know sells it etheir. if i find any i'll make sure to notify you.

A.G. Russell sells a few knives with Chinese quince burl for the handles. I do not know who supplies it to him.
Check out some exotic wood suppliers on the net to see if it is available. Look under "burl wood".

Quince goes by the name of persimmon in this country. I think Enrique Vega also sells persimmon as well as other woods check out his sight. Persimmon is also used for golf club heads. Most of this countries output is shipped to Japan.

Thanks for the information.
MikeS do you have a web adress for Enrique
Vege I couldn't find the site when I searched.

Thanks Charles

Hello!
Maybe you can try Eisenbrand Inc. at http://www.eisenbran.com/
They have a grat selection of different sized hardwoods available. Sizes are very usable for knifemakers. Prices are cheap, at least compared to the prices taken by european knifemaker suppliers.
