I often seen people say their new Strider folder needs to be sent back to the shop because it has problems. I've personally seen a PT with a wobbly blade because the locking bar was too short and have to be sent back.

If Striders were made in China, would it have the same quality and would you buy one?

I'm not a big fan of Strider knives, but I must say that you definitely deserve whatever responses your question is sure to generate.:jerkit:

Judging by the threads you've started, you are no stranger to "fanning the flames", and it appears this thread is meant to do just that.

3G

So far I known Striders are made in the US. I've got a SMF recurve and never had problems with it.

I have had a few Striders, and I only had a problem with one. I had a PT that had some issues. I sent it back to Strider, and they replaced it. Striders are made in US. Would I buy a Chinese copy of one, or one made in China? HECK NO! I agree with 3G; that you like to fan the flames.

Not no, but HELL NO! I wouldn't buy a chinese made Strider at all. I have an AR that has been nothing but perfect since I received it. Got back in the late winter and have opened it numerous times and the lockbar has yet to move from where it first locked up. Tight and smooth. Wouldn't have it any other way!:D

STRIDER KNIVES ARE MADE IN THE USA

there are already many ILLEGAL strider copies made in china being sold on the net.

Some people have NO integrity!!!!! :grumpy:

"Dirty Red China commie knock-off"

now the communsist dont make the copies , factories, do ,, :),
dont be so qucik to presume they lack any ability,
you could make a perfect copy in china , of equal or better quality,
the only thing that stops one form doing so is price,, and the association with china , that is ,, bad quality products,,

you could have the thing laser cut and cnc machines perfectly to a t , you could use imported steels , or some of the better chinese tool steels , like 11cr17 or their copy of m2 or d2 steel ,
,, all one would have to do is submit the technical drawings and the materials required and youd have exsactly what your money would pay for,
how do you think those "stupid commie chinese" made the computer your using to write this with??
there is amny well equipt factories in china that can mak perfeclty made products just as one requires ,
the reason most chinese knives are poor quality is price and , the lack of requirments, both regarding materials and machining, ..
anyway , just a point,

If it was licensed for production in China by the Strider company and offered as an alternative economical line - then, yes. I buy the Byrd knives, which are made in China for Spyderco, and they are good knives.

I buy as little as possible from China, and never when it comes to the knives I love.

It makes a trip to Wal-Mart a major PITA, but helps me sleep at night.

Ausjulius,
I hope one day Kizlyar or Rosarms knives or both brands became as popular in the world as Strider. And than somebody can decide that it is a good idea to steal design and produce knives without spending any time and money to design them. If this would happen, probably your point of view would change.

Actually, that is a nice "brain game" to determine if you like something.

Pretend it was made somewhere or by someone you dislike and ask if you would still buy it. (same materials, quality, etc.)

If yes, you actually do like it. If no, ...

I don't buy Levi stuff anymore because of that game. Of course, Levi stuff isn't made here anymore either. Kizmit.

Does China make fake Strider's? What was the reason for the thread?

No.

How does anyone know if Strider knives were made in China if they would have the same quality? Maybe yes, maybe no. Besides, what kind of a stupid question was that in the first place?
