Chinook 3 or Manix?

All else being equal (which in this case they are) we would really like for you to buy one of each and test them against each other. :D

The hollow grind of the II might slice better and the flat grind of the III might be stronger, but I can't see the difference being significant in ordinary use.

Still, we don't buy for ordinary use, we look to the extremes. I would get the III.

Thanks, I look for the III and pick up the IV when it comes out.

I have a Manix and in my opinion, it is more beautiful than the Chinook, especially the handle (taste differs though, of course).
Since they're both full flat ground and of the same thickness, the fact that the Manix has a wider blade possibly makes the angle of the edge of the Manix sharper and better for cutting things (the Manix is RAZOR sharp that's for sure, cuts through things like they're not there). Might be just a minor difference though. I guess the thin tapered point of the Chinook makes it easier to thrust it into things, if that's what you're after.

From what I've heard, they're both awesome knives, I think the biggest factor is your personal taste.

I am having the same difficulty as you deciding which on to buy I think the chinook 3 because it has the uperhand as a sd tool.Manix will be bought soon after i'm sure.

This thread has a lot of great info in it.

I think if you read through the posts and look at the pics you'll find it real helpful towards making the right choice.

I just bought a mini manix. After reading this thread, my next order will probably have a chinook 3 in it.

Whoever said spydies were like french fries was totally right.
