Spyderco made changes to the chinook 3, are they still good?
Spyderco does not have any chinook listed on their website??

I understand back cuts fairly well. The chinook being a single edge blade (I think it is not double edge) is said by many to be useful for backcuts. Can someone explain this to me? I assume what is meant is that the blade is ground on the second edge but not cutting sharp??
Thanks in advance for help.

The Chinook III is the same as the Chinook II, only with a flat ground blade as opposed to hollow ground.

The spine is flat with no swedge or sharpened edge. "Back cut" refers to how the upswept tip will catch and penetrate a target on a back swing, not actually slice.
