Hi folks,

If anyone has any good quality images of the Chinook (plain edge) I'd sure like to see them. I have found a couple of reasonably good ones on the net, but thought somebody out there might have some others; perhaps personally taken ones.

This would help get me through the "dream&drool" phase of this most recent purchase preparation and
justification process. I'm sure most of you will understand...

Images can be emailed to:

"pinshooter@canada.com"

Thanks for any help you can offer, Jeff/1911.

These pictures are taken by a Chinese friend, I just figured out how to post images here.

Wow, those pics are great! I can't top that...
Maybe your friend should see if Sal wants them for the catalog?

Sal, you need to get pics of this quality on your website. Looking at these pictures just made me want to go out and buy the knife.

Rick

Actually, I think spyderco uses white-backgrounded pictures in the catalog shows a responsible and professional attitude. Cause decorated pictures may mislead buyers. Though, I do think spyderco should have a galary folder on the website to show these beauties. Also, I will happy if I can see spyderco's website can show the knives like this company shows its motorcycles. (click on the motor's photo) YAMAHA

huh,

WOW!!!!! Man, is that EVER what I was hoping to get! I have never seen such high quality knife images before. Thank you very, very much for posting these.

By the way, if there was any doubt in my mind as to whether to get one of these knives...there sure isn't now!

All the very best to you my friend, Jeff/1911.

Because of these pics, the Chinook is on my "have to get" list now. :D ;)

hmmmmm... Yummmy. Those are some nice pics. Glad to see the tip is real stout on that thing.

By any chance do you have picks of the starmate handy as well?
Anyone?

Just thought I'd remark on how great those pics look !!

Have you got any other Spyderco pics...possibly Delica / Endura ??

The pics really do help selling the knife.....I could be tempted on this one :)

Celery,

I couldn't see them at first...it took my computer about a minute or more to load them. Just be patient, then you'll see what all the fuss is about!

Jeff/1911.

Celery,

Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe not. Now when I look at the thread all I see is a bunch of X's. Perhaps the pictures have been removed by the administrator or something. They were BIG files. Geez' I sure hope not. Anyway, I'll mail them to you.

Jeff/1911.

Remarkable photos.
Professional quality.

-----

These photos highlight some of the strengths and IMHO some of the weaknesses of this design.

Weaknesses:

Right handed clip (particularly frustrating on an otherwise ambidextrous lockback).

Tip down carry.

It has a signature on it.

Strengths:

Everything else.

-----

Have I heard rumors about an ambidextrous tip-up clip Chinook?

Is this the Knife from the movie Transporter? I am not to familar with any knifes but I was talking about the movie with my friend and he said the knife the main character used sounded like a Chinook. I know the show a very close up angle of the knife in the movie but I am not sure if it or isn't, any one help me out?

nice pic btw.

Ken, perhaps you can explain to me why you favor tip up carry. Whenever I read the multitude of threads on the issue, they always seemvery defensive or very aggressive and, either way, not very long on explanation. My experience the modes of carry has been neutral, although it has always seemed that tip down would be a more secure way of carrying a knife in your pocket. Am I missing something here?

Ken I ain't, but I do prefer tip up carry. The reason is that the knife can be drawn and opened with the hand fully on the handle with no need to rotate the knife. It allows for a faster more secure draw for me. Also, it is perfectly secure, so long as you keep the spine against the seam of the pocket. I do sometimes carry a waved righty in the left pocket to deploy into reverse grip. Never had an EKI open on me. Just keep the pivot somewhat snug and have a good detent and you should be OK. I do carry knives that are tip down. Some knives work better one way or another. But, everything else being equal i will take the tip up method of carry.
