I'm in the middle of a knife buying frenzy. And it's great. Right now , I'm looking at Persian style blades with that nice upsweep. And I like larger knives.

The Spyderco Chinook4 and BM Bedlam both look interesting. This won't be for edc. But for occasional carry when a larger blade is wanted/needed. I'll be removing the clip so it's gonna be a back pocket knife.

Which do you like?

For pocket carry I think the Chinook is slimmer. I would go with that.

I wish they would make a mini bedlam, cause I liked it but it's HUGE. Way to big for pocket carry, handle way to long. If would have fit in an adamas sheath I may have kept it. Don't know how you feel about cold steel, but their talwar I'd take over both.

I agree , the Bedlam handle is a little on the long side.

I have two of the Bedlams one in satin and the black DLC blade. The Black serrated one I use frequently in the kitchen for meat and vegetable processing. I find the knife a little too big for EDC carry. But I can't bring my self to sell them because they are awesome to use, I would stow one of them in my EDC bag but the Adamas is occupying that spot.

Got rid of the Bedlam purely because the handle was too big.

I have a XL Talwar. Thing is obnoxious but I use it all the time in the kitchen. I'd go with the Chinook.

I can't compare them because I've never handled a Bedlam but I CAN praise the Chinook 4. It's a great knife that carries well. I've owned and used three of the four generations of Chinook and I think that 4 is the best.

Bedlam wasn't for me, like CharlieMike, the handle was too much for me...felt unwieldy. No experience with the Chinook...yet.

Do love my Emerson Persian though!
