Who has better fit and finish and overall quality? Specifically the sng vs. the sebenza.

thanks,
Justin

Your first post and you've opened up a flood gate.

Good luck:thumbup:

I'll vote for the Sebenza.

Fit and finish, Sebenza...toughness...Strider. As for an EDC the Sebenza wins hands down.

There is absolutely no competition between the 2 as far as fit and finish. I have had both and CRK will win 10 out of 10 times. Buy the Sebenza first, Strider knife second. Both are fine examples of the 2 companies. The Sebenza however is in a league of its own!

They are totally different knives. Reeve=Mercedes. Strider=Tuff pick-up truck. Both are outstanding knives.

I've played with a whole bunch of Striders, including the PT-CC (which I fell in love with) but came away thinking that the F&F wasn't quite up there with Chris Reeve -- certainly good, but not as tuned. Also, not a fan of the SnG's pocket clip.

Carrot---what don't you like about the Strider clip? Just curious. I just sold my SnG.

The clip is uncomfortable and hurts my hands. It also gets in the way of having a good grip on the knife. Being used to knives with well-designed clips, I didn't like it.

If you're asking because you're considering buying one or the other, you may as well go ahead and purchase both and check them out yourself. Until you do that, you'll never really know which you'll like better. Don't worry, though. You'll like them both, but (probably) for different reasons.

I know you didn't ask me lycosa, but since I have the clip, or rather placement of the clip, I'll respond also. As I said, the placement of the clip is the problem with me as I can not stand a clip that lets an inch or more of knife stick out of my pocket. I like the clip as it is a simple straight forward clip, nothing at all fancy about it, just like the knife. All I've ever had was the AR I currently have and the one that will be here at the end of the month. On this knife, and the GB, the frame screws tighten up on both sides of the knife. What I did was make a single holed foldover clip, from a clip I got off knifekits, and remover the screw at the rear of the handle, put it through the hole in my clip and then screwed it back in. I had to flatten the area where the bottom of the clip goes and the single screw, due to its stout size, has held the clip in place for the past year and a half of carry without sliding one bit. I'll do the same thing on the AR I'm getting and that way I can save the original clip. I had seen where someone took the original clip and ground it to fit the back frame hole.

Anyway, that's my gripe with the Striders, and everyother folder that sticks out of my pocket. There are several companied addressing this as more and more knives are coming out with foldover deep carry clips.

Never had the other Strider folders, but from the pics I've seen you can not do what I've done with the AR to them.

having better fit and finish doesnt make it a stronger or a better knife.

but Sebenza wins. :)

too bad I hate the stud.

Thanks, Cutter. I'd like to see a pic of what you did to your folder. Could STR help you out with a custom clip(s)?

Agree with post's #2 through #6. Have examples from both.

I have Sebenzas and a Strider AR. The fit and finish on the Sebenzas wins hands down.

The BOS blade on the Strider was/is sharper than my S30V Sebenza.

The Seb is my EDC because it is so flat.

This is good. Same question asked yet again. But answers from a new crew.
Need popcorn.

Wow thanks for all the responses. Next question, are they worth 400? Also, would I be happy with the pt cc? How small is it when it is in your hand it is hard to tell online. I handled a small sebenza and found I didn't like how small the handle was. Will it be the same situation with the pt cc? I figure since its $100 cheaper if I were to get one at all I would just get that. Although, it sounds like they may be a bit overpriced for what they are no matter the model? At any rate, I appreciate all the responses.
