Chlorine versus Iodine?

I was wondering what the differences were in using Chlorine v.
Iodine for water purification.

I found this article on water purification.

To Quote:

Just thought I'd post this in case anyone was interested as I was.
 
+1 on Iodine. Bleach is nasty by itself - and a capful cleans something like 400 gallons!

I simply use Iodine drops and it is all good.
