Recommendation? Choil vs. Larger blade

I'd rather have the extra edge over a finger choil myself.

Unless there is not enough handle for an ultra compact folder(such as CS Tuff Lite), then it may make sense to sacrifice cutting edge just to have a better grip.

Other than that, I really don't see there is any point of having a choil on a folder, especially when it is ill placed.

Choil/large ricasso on a long fixed blade is a different story, it does reduce fatigue somewhat and provide better control for finer cuts/making shaving.
