I see that there is jimping there, and a slight incline, so maybe in the most technical sense there is a choil on the Chokwe, but its not near as prominent as on the military.
Perhaps vaguely so, although the Smith blade appears to have considerably more curve to the edge and a concave curve to the spine, The Chokwe looks more like a blade which started out as a wharncliffe, but has developed a bit of curve at the tip from repeated sharpenings.
Then again, the Chokwe fixed blade could conceivably have been something JD Smith was aware of, and may have influenced the design of the C58, But I'd guess that's something only he could answer.
