Chokwe, yes or no?

It was my only EDC for 2 years almost. I did not care for the looks at the time of purchase ( got it for a sweet price), but the feel of the thing in my pocket and in my hand (!!!) is just perfect. My first Spyderco ... Now I have 9 ... With #10 Spydie on it's way  I just wonder if it's powerfull magnet for other knifes from the same manufacturer? Be ware - very addictive! ;)

I had zero Spyderco knives 2.5 months ago.....the Chokwe and DF Salt SE will be #10 and 11.

Sweet little things are like rabbits.

The Chokwe landed today. You folks were right, this knife is incredible! Will look even better in a few weeks when Steve makes up a TS Kevlar scale for her!

Also got the new Dragonfly Salt SE.....this little knife sucks! It's just TOO dang sharp, has drawn blood twice in the first hour. Wow is that little guy sharp.

It's one of those Spydercos that I look at all the time. I love wharncliffe blades and big knives, but a couple details have kept me from pulling the trigger.

One, I don't like that is not a full, four inch blade. Two, I don't like that the tip sweeps up towards the end of the blade, ruining the wharncliffe profile. Three, the lack of traditional Spyderco ergos. I am a huge fan of Sal Glesser designed knives. In fact, I don't believe anyone does it better.

I keep hoping Spyderco will release that grail, four in blade true wharncliffe in traditional Caly, Manix, Sage type ergonomics.

I have medium to smaller hands and I much prefer the ergos of the Chokwe over the Manix. As a mater of fact, I rank the Chokwe just behind the Caly 3.5 and my Sage 1 as my fav Spyderco designs. It carries so well for a knife that size.

Just check out how close this folder is to the actual Chokwe knives from which it is inspired by. Remarkably close in proportion and detail. So you really cannot knock am ethnic series knife for being what it is...
Incredibly useful and functional as it is, too!

I actually did check out how accurate the design is. I think it's a cool idea, I just know it's not really what I want in a large, Spyderco wharncliffe folder. I don't buy knives willy nilly, anymore.

Like I said, I'd rather hold out hope for a full size, full wharncliffe profile folder designed by Sal or Eric. I'd even take it as a flipper.

So far, the closest is the Yojimbo 2, which, while it's not quite full size and doesn't have trademark ergos like a 50/50 choil and such, it does at least have a true wharncliffe blade and very comfortable ergos. I have one of those, which is what is holding the spot until Spyderco decides to knock it out of the park, for me.

Here's a diy wharnie. :)
