What of these steels would you choose?

I searched allot for info on RWL-34??? but no info

I'm think it's the russian version of ATS34 which is the same composition as 154CM. As far as I know the are all the same grade, but made by different suppliers.

RWL seems to be the premium choice for russian knives overall, there are som others but the top line stuff is damascus or RWL34.

I personally favor fine grain steels like Sandvik 13C26, but if you like 154CM/ATS34 I think you'll like this one too.

I think RWL-34 is the P/m version of 154 CM/ATS 34, or in other works very similar to CPM154. I could be wrong, though.

i think i remember reading that too gunmike...... not only is it p/m but i believe its made in sweeden. Its seems to be linked to damasteel a fair amount. I dont know it is made by the same people but it often shows up as an ingredient in damasteel. All three steels should be fine as long as there is a proper heat treat. and in all honesty most people would never tell the difference.

Thanks guys.

All the information I found was from the knife maker forums. Knife makers love RWL-34 . They love it because it is easy to work with and it polishes very well. More than any stainless.

But what about it functionally?

I read that it is very tough.

No idea how it is compared to other premium steels.
