My wife and I are separating, and she is (finally!) paying some of the bills. This gives me the opportunity to finally buy a new knife (Its been 10 months!).

I've been looking a lot at the Spyderco Positron, and I like everything but the steel. S30V and I have a long standing grudge.

Meanwhile, the S110V PM2 is calling my name as well.

My grudge against S30V has lessened, as Spyderco found that my PM2's blade to have a bad heat treat, and replaced it. Its been fine since.

So...Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find a folder withing my parameters.

Less than $200
No metal handles or framelocks
I prefer flippers and Spydie holes, but am willing to work around that.
Not a huge fan of Benchmade or ZT.
Blade length under 3.5"

Thanks y'all!

The Spyderco Domino is one of my favorites. It's just seems to be the perfect size for me. It does have titanium on one side though. I usually don't like metal handles but I have found that a combo scale with G10/CF and titanium is actually really nice.

The new Emerson sheepdog has piqued my interest. I've never owned one, and 154CM is not my favorite. However, a G-10 liner lock flipper suits me nonetheless. Is it worth the price?

Absolutely.
I have carried a lot of 2012-13 Emersons and they are wonderful, but the current ones being made are probably the best examples from them.

Does any have (or have had/handled) the Spyderco Positron? Just looking for input. Thanks.

Positron, Domino or Southard. I don't have a Positron, checked one out and it was awesome....just a tic too small for my hands.
Check out the other 2 though KOD!! I have about 40 Spydies and these 2 are my favorites!! They flip beautifully, lock up stupid tight, great steel on both and they are sweet looking!!
Pics!!!

I had the southard and did not like it.

I've come to the point where I just don't like metal handles. I sold off all but 2 of my framelocks/metal handled knives. My hands get cold easily, and I just don't like pulling a freezing cold knife out of my pocket.

Unless I hear other options, I think I'll get the positron when I get paid. When I've saved more money, I'll pick up an Emerson.

Give LionSTEEL a look. I purchased an Opera (their original knife) with stag handles and like the feel of it a lot. It is a back lock and you pinch it to open it, so there is no speed opening there. It's in D2. But all in all, a nice carry knife at about 4" closed length with no clip.

Although it's slightly above $200, you might like the Southern Grind Spider Monkey.

I found the positron's clip to be seriously uncomfortable (almost unusable) in hand. Have you considered a Spyderco Native 5? They're really really well done!

Already have both of those. But thank you. Of the multitude of knives I've owned, the SG SM is tied for first as my favorite, both in look and practicality.

Most of the flippers that I'd recommend are framelocks.. This is a tough one.

If you get passed it, the domino and southard are phenomenal knives as others have mentioned. Southard's hole is pretty small though, I don't find it very usable for deployment.
I don't like Benchmades or Zts either, but I'd consider a 0450cf for myself. Has a frame lock though.
I loooove frame locks.

IMHO the PM2 S110V is very interesting.

I don't know much good flippers that are not frame lock and under 200$

The ZT 0350 may have been something to look at but if you are not fan of ZT it may not be the best for you.... good blade, some steel options, liner lock, flipper, under 200$... but on the easy side, and very much a ZT

Manix 2 Cruwear!
I have gone two days without mine in my pocket since I received it. Only one of those two was intentional, and I couldn't wait to get it back in its spot...

Just a Great carry...
Stock Gray diamond G10 dyed RIT Teal:

I'll also shout loudly for the Cruwear Manix.......undyed!! That dye job is awesome Bill!!

Thanks bud, I am planning on doing a second coat to get it a bit more deeper toned.

As far as the knife goes, it is one of my favorite knife models.
The only other one that I Really want to get my hands on is a 940-1501.
