If you had to choose only one between the following knives for EDC which would you pick? (i know these are all different and each may be better/worse at particular tasks, but which would you personally choose for EDC and why?) Many of them can be bought with plain or combo edge, different points, etc., so feel free to elaborate on which edge or point you would choose for the particular knife you picked. I didn't post a link to every variation in blade.

sog flash 2

I would pick the Paramilitary 2.
Reasons:
Nice tip for penetrating when needed.
Thick blade but a heck of a slicer.
Works for both heavier tasks as well as light tasks.
Good blade steel.
Feels excellent in the pocket and hand.
Excellent lanyard hole for tying a nice lanyard.
The choil is great for choking up on the blade and getting a really nice grip.
Overall it's just a great knife for the $100ish you pay.

PM2. Only others I would consider would be the grip which to me is a little large with the stock handles or the osborne which I have no experience at all but heard good things.

I will say Para 2 as well. it is the only knife that I carry anymore when I am not carrying my sebenza.

wow, didn't expect a 100% return on one knife!

well you guys are definitely making this an easy choice for me.

do you know if spyderco offers custom blade engraving or if there is anyone that could engrave the blade for me?

of those knives i've owned three, the flash, the grip, and the m16sf. The flash is junk, cheap at first glance but overpriced when you take into account the extremely low quality of the knife (tons of blade slop, poor lockup). The M16 is a good blade, a quick sharpen, fits reasonably well in pocket for its size and solid lockup, however, stay away from the veff serrations. The tines of the serrations are extremely prone to chipping on any moderately tough use application (mine required replacement after its first use cutting some canvas hose at the fire hall). However, the normal serrations do a great job and have stayed sharp throughout a variety of tasks. The grip is a great knife, pretty good steel, fits well in pocket, and solid construction. I've never owned the rest, so I cant comment with regards to them, though I've heard good things about the spyderco. You might want to look at the mcusta tactility: http://www.bladehq.com/item--Mcusta-Tactility-Manual--5694. Its a great blade, and in the same price range. It's my fav edc at the moment, along with my zt 0300.

+1 Para 2. Best knife for the money by far. Fit and finish is awesome. Lock design is exceptional and great size and weight.

Of those I would go Benchmade. I am not a fan of Spyderco really, dislike the hole. I love the Axis lock though. Personally I would take the 943 over the 940- just personal preference in blade profile.

Para2. The 940 comes in a close second though, even with the ugly green color of the aluminum.

PM2 and UKPK in my pockets right now, no thoughts of changing anything until the Southard flipper comes out, and that's a way different price range and I still might not like it more.

I've had piles of $60-$400 folders from Spyderco, Benchmade, Emerson, CRK, and the PM2 is my all time favorite.

I can pm you a site that sells the P2 that is very reputable and also does engraving. I too would go with the P2.

PM 2 as well. There is at least one online seller that offers to engrave blades when they are sold probably more than one.

I love my para 2. But my 940 has been in my pocket a lot lately. It's been my go to edc for past few weeks , Because it's very light and has a big blade. Can't even tell it's in your pocket. But for the price the para 2 would be my first pick. I got my 940 here on the forums.

I would suggest the Para2. For me, the ergos are great. Opens up smooth and locks up solidly. Great slicer with a variety of flavors to choose from.
