Choosing between these folders...

I own a grip, para2 and the m16. And hands down get a para 2 for all of blade chicks reasons :)

/thread lol

I love my Spydies and the Para 2 is a helluva knife. Although it is, in my opinion, a superior folder to the Benchmade 940, the 940 has a lot of good things going for it as well--either would be a good choice. I'd also recommend something from the Spyderco Sage series...

Good luck! :)

thank you to everyone that has replied! Looks like I'll be picking up the spidey pm2 in black/black with a plain edge. (unless you guys convince me that I need a combo!)

I can pm you a site that sells the P2 that is very reputable and also does engraving. I too would go with the P2.

PM 2 as well. There is at least one online seller that offers to engrave blades when they are sold probably more than one.

I don't seem to have pm ability. link to online seller? (if against board policy my apologies)

out of all the knives listed, i would only consider the spyderco and the two benchmade's. i own two out of those three knives, a grip 550 and four para2's. my vote goes to the para2

i'll throw another benchmade to consider into the mix, the 746 mini onslaught.

I just recently had the opportunity to handle a 746 and really liked it. It's probably the next on my hit-list:D

Out of the ones you listed, I think the Para 2, 940 and Griptilian are head and shoulders above the rest. I own all three and use them often, it's hard to pick one since they've all got great features.

The Griptilian (my favourite is the 550) is light, very comfortable to use and you can pick from different blade shapes. It does take up quite a bit of pocket space and the handle has a kind of cheap feeling to it.

The 940 and 943 (same knife with a clip point blade) are awesome. What I love about them is that you get a lot of blade in a very slim package, I carry mine in pants with small pockets or when my pockets are stuffed with other things (mobile, wallet, etc.).

The Para 2 has a lot going for it as well, and is probably one of the most versatile folders in Spyderco's line-up, enough has been said about it by other folks already.

Steel and locks on all three are excellent (with the Para 2 and 940 holding a slight advantage over the Griptilian in blade steel), ergonomics are spot on as well. I think all three are worth having, if I had to choose one it would be between the 940 and the Para 2.

Of the knives you mentioned in OP I've only owned 2.

Flash 2: Decent utility/beater knife but I wouldn't want it as my primary carry, blade play is an issue and deployment is so so. Gave mine to a friend who always needed a knife but never had one.
Para 2: Awesome, seriously great knife for all of the reasons Blade Chick described. I love mine.

I would pick the Paramilitary 2.
Reasons:
Nice tip for penetrating when needed.
Thick blade but a heck of a slicer.
Works for both heavier tasks as well as light tasks.
Good blade steel.
Feels excellent in the pocket and hand.
Excellent lanyard hole for tying a nice lanyard.
The choil is great for choking up on the blade and getting a really nice grip.
Overall it's just a great knife for the $100ish you pay.

+1. I totally agree. I'd just add that it is made by a great company with great customer service. Oh, and it looks nice, too.
