Choosing new knife any help

If you're looking for heavy-duty use, I'd check out some Cold Steel products. They're not my favorite designs but they've got the strongest lock on the planet. They're also known to be pretty large aesthetically and heavy built. I believe the Cold Steel Code 4 is under $75 on Amazon depending on what blade you'd like. Good luck!

Kershaw and CRKT have quite a few options and if you can raise the budget you can look at the Spyderco Manix ll. I think the Manix 2 is one of the best values that Spyderco has. The Kershaw Blur in S30V is a fantastic knife and is the only assisted knife that I own and also the only one that I have left.

The mention of Kershaw reminds me that I've really liked the Kershaw Link in M390, although that's an assisted opener if that's a problem for OP. You can often find these at places like Knifeworks for under $80.

I agree with those who recommended the Ontario Rat 1 in D2! If there is a better knife on the planet for less money, please let me know as I would like to get two or three!

Other options:
-- Byrd Cara Cara 2 G10 is a really nice budget option for cheap! Be sure to get the G10 version. "Budget PM2".
-- Spyderco Tenacious "Golden Oldie"
-- Kizer and Real Steel both offer some really nice EDC options for $75 or less.

Boker Plus JB Stout Lateralus G10, ~70 Bucks, Framelock Flipper with D2. I think it's underappreciated, although there is a big budget market, especially right now, so it's easy for knives to get lost.

Any restrictions on blade length or type of knives (ie. assisted knives might be illegal in your area) ?

Without knowing more info...
Spyderco Delica 4 is a classic.
Boker JB Stout Lateralus. https://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Plus-JB-Stout-Lateralus--71453
Ontario Rat 1 in D2 is still a great knife for $40.
Cold Steel Code 4 (I have and like the spear point)
No restrictions from what I understand I live in Oregon and the laws seem to be pretty loose

Damn, I should've paid more attention to your list. But it's nice somebody else mentioned the Lateralus. :)

Get a Spyderco Stretch man! I have just about everything stated above. The stretch find it way in my pocket super often because it’s about the “sliciest” knife I own, it’s tough, and I don’t feel bad using and dirtying it up.i think just about anything suggested will satisfy. Also you may be able to score a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 for a steal on the knife exchange!
