Choosing new knife any help

I second the Boker plus Lateralus. Boker Plus along these lines will fit your heavily built needs. Another that i like is the Boker Plus Caracal, but costs a bit more. Another that i like is the Boker Plus Sulaco. The original is a heavily built 6oz g10 liner lock for about $50. It also now comes in a titanium framelock for more money but is somehow lighter.

Kizer Vanguard series are good heavy built knives in this range. You can also find older higher end Kizers at this price, so look around.

Kershaw Link or Kershaw Knockout would be my suggestions!
I would agree with Whitty here. Those are solid choices. I'd toss the Blackout and Blur in there for variety as well.

And I'd buy it from Whitty at USAMadeBlade.com for good measure.

Or the new Bareknuckle, then he'd have the latest and newest of the bunch.

Manly Peak2, Comrade or Peak would be my suggestions. The D2 steel versions would fit your budget. German D2 steel with excellent edge retention and steel hardness.

The Manly knives look like a good a choice, been looking at them too. the Buck 110 has been mentioned, if you want a little smaller, try the Buck 112 Ranger, slightly lighter. Lastly, I like some of the knives from AG Russell.

Ontario Utilitac II, designed by Joe Pardue. After I got mine for about $20, I was so impressed that I picked up one more. Pretty heavy duty, for a folder.

The Farrum Forge / Massdrop Gents Folder made by WE Knives sold for $79 a few months back and both there other collaboration knives have had at least a second Run so The Gent is do. You can't beat the quality and F.F. plus S35VN for $79 :cool:

Cool thanks

Thanks everyone for your help I think I will be getting the Ontario rat 2 and Ontario utilitac to replace my main two so thanks again

Excellent choices! Let us know how you like them once you have them in hand and start carrying and using them.

Let me know how the utilitac is! I've thought about buying one just because several times. Let us know how it performs for you!

-Ontario Rat 1 or Rat 2 (depending on size you want) in D2 steel
-Buck Vantage Pro in S30v

+1. All three of my favorite folders in one reply :-) Seriously, the Buck vantage Pro in S30v is a strong contender in that price range, esp for a general purpose edc.

Just got Ontario utilitac 2 couple days ago and I have to say i really like it it came sharp was comfortable in the hand and I like the weight of it but I ended up returning it because I bought the kershaw florish a day before and I like the kershaw little bit more so I had to return the utilitac 2 but if you are looking at utilitac 2 I will say it's worth it to buy and is going on my list of things to buy in the future
