CHOOSING THE RIGHT SURVIVAL KNIFE by Chris Janowsky

back up to the top because papathud brought it up in the other thread. Anyway, in the other thread I said that Chriss was a nice honest person. I say "was" because he is no longer with us or so I heard last year. Anyway, a tribute to a good survivalist. thumbs up too you my friend:thumbup:

I remember that article (in case anyone wants to see the pictures that went with it):

And the other one, from before INFI was born:

" Be able to slice free hanging large diameter hemp rope with a single slice"

Hmmmm. I've never been in a "real" survival situation, but how often do you guys get stuck in the Hanging-Hemp-Rope Forest? (Besides Woody Harelson, of course.)

;)

Cool article. Makes me want the SH1 in INFI all the more.

Great post. My survival knife is more slanted towards the urban setting but this article covers a lot of the same issues an "urban survival knife" would cover. Thanks for the post.

Wow, awesome articles. Thanks for the hard work Cobalt (and Mrs.). John, thanks for the Ron Hood article. That is just the kind of info I love:thumbup:

Reading these articles makes me all the happier for discovering Busse knives.

As I read this topic I start to believe that this INFI steel that the Busse knife is made out is, is also a steel that I would like to be able to use...

The blade in the story did all that I hope to be able to get my blades to do, bend to near 90' , take a real beating, does not rust easy,,,,

yes this blade is what I aim to learn how to make one day ..
