BOOMSTICK and i met up with some BF folks again last night, at Ban's shop in san jose... as usual we had a blast... you can't ask for better company than these guys.... i took aton of pics.. it's always hard trying to find which ones to post..

BAN.... the man, holding one of his bad a$$ modded BUSSE's.... check out the gut hook/bottle opener on this one... the convex edge was insanely sharp too...

TINYSD from here on BF moved to MD. today actually, so this was his last chopping get together until he comes to CALI. again... he is a cool dude..

Ban and Nate(norcalblacktal), getting some more 2 x 4's ready to chop... nate is a crazy fast chopper, and i was too slow to snap any pics of him last night. i would turn my back for a second, and he would be done, in like 5-6 chops.. it was too cool....

here i am chopping with a BUSSE AK..... i want one of these things too... they're awesome... especially with the razor sharp convex edge that Ban put on it.... i fell in love with these sword the last time we were here...

looks like a blast.

i love to chop...maybe someday i will make it to a chopfest out there in cali.

but if i come i guess i should bring some real wood (nice seasoned maple) instead of wimpy 2x4s :eek:;)
 
Mike, it's gonna get real bad for your wallet playing with all those Busses man :D Looks like a kickass time for sure.
 
this was the results of one of my best chops... i whaked this 2 x 4 up in like 5 chops.... check out the cuts this thing makes, like butter....

and now for some steeeeeeeeelllllllllllllll.....

this is how we started off the night, and as the night progressed, more and more knives started to fill the table..... we did a few extra's for photo sake, of course... that is a lot $$$ in knives...:eek: it was wild..

now check out this beauty.... this is one of Ban's BT4's in A2 steel and desert ironwood and moasic pins.... this knife is absolutely gorgeous.... the fit and feel on it is perfect.. it feel great in the hand... and as you already know, the convex edge is insanely sharp... this would make an awesome field/woods knife..

i liked it so much that i ended up ordering one while i was there.... of cousre... i am going to be getting brown micarta scales on mine and probably hollow pins...

i generally don't like choils on knives, but this one i didn't mind... you could easily choke up on the blade, for fine cutting slicing work...

Great pics, I have alot of choppers and think something like that with others would be great fun. I have done similar on my own but having a few buddies there would surely liven things up!

BTW that ban knife looks really good, is he taking orders on them? I think it would make a nice hunter or regular use knife.

i'm not too sure what Ban's order status is.. you should drop him a line.. he's a great guy and as with all of us, he loves talking knives...:thumbup:

i didn't have him sharpen any of my knives... one of these days i will... he's a busy guy..
 
I'm sitting here wiping the drool from my keyboard while trying to justify purchasing a Busse ... I mean it's not just a knife right ??? it's more like a piece of art...... thanks a bunch Mike :thumbup:

Me and Tiny stuck around a little longer and took some lessons from the best.

It was a lot of fun sharpening on the KMG, and a hell of a lot faster then sandpaper and strop. :thumbup:
