This is a chop off between the Busse NMFBM, FFBM and Himalayan Imports 18” AK, I took my largest 3 choppers that I use and put them against each other to see which one would come out on top. All 3 knives did very well as you will see when you watch the videos.

Specs are as Follows:

NMFBM:
11.5” Blade
17.5” OAL
.25” Thick
31.5 ounces

FFBM
10” Blade
16” OAL
.3125” Thick
32 Ounces

18” AK
12.25” Blade
18” OAL
.500” Thick
About 40 Ounces, Not sure exactly, but it’s heavy.

Ankerson, those are some awesome videos. That made me want to go buy another NMFBM. What a BEAST!!

wow, my shoulders hurt just watching the video. So I guess your pretty happy with your new NMFBM. And just when you thought the FFBM couldn't be beat =)
only thing I have is, is it really fair to the FFBM that you didn't wait too long after chopping the NMFBM before using the FFBM, your arms could be tired and so it could have lacked more power... But I'm sure you know what your doing.

Now, was that Chop Off accomplished with the factory edge or did you take your Edge Pro to it first? Just curious.

I did some chopping with the NMFBM early that morning to get use to the feel of it and from what I found it it wouldn't have made any difference really. I tore up a really big stump with it, and chopped a bunch of other stuff and it really does out do the FFBM by a lot, it's that Convex grind and fine edge, it just freaking bites deep.

Nope, that was the factory edge.

Nice! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The edge is so fine on it it just bites man.

That Urban Gray coating doesn't budge at all, it tougher than the Sage.

After all I did with it today, and I did a lot more than what was on the videos, I had to look at it at an angle to see any wear.

Killer!

You know you just might get me to break down and use my NMFBM LE. :D
The whole time you were chopping (with any of them) I was thinking that one day that log will be just a pile of wood chips. :p

Oh, and it has at least 1 sharp edge. :p

Thanks for the videos!

I got my 1st BrandNewBusse about 6 months ago (Arctic White NMSFNO w/ Black Micarta Mags), I thinly convexed it by hand(DMT Course+FineStone) after about a month, and I've beaten the hell outta it to the point that it was basically my 14 inch EDC that made my girlfriend jealous.

---THEN---I recently bought my 2nd BNBusse (Arctic White NMFBM w/ Blue+Black G10s), (almost to the ideal thinly convexed edge) and from that moment I knew my destiny was to be the first Busse-Wielding lumberjack. haha
--- The Ergonomics's give me about 4 perfectly comfortable spots to grip, it's heavy... yet perfectly balanced to where its' sheer mass dominates whatever the laser-like edge leaves behind, and the color combo is "Dead Sexy" combined with the (Blue+White) Paracord D-Guard I just made. (Wish I could post pics)

***I still love my NMSFNO for "smaller" chores.
---BUT--- When I know something absolutely, positively, needs to be destroyed...
I call my (NMFB)-Mistress!!!
(I'll miss my girlfriend)

Once again Ankerson great videos, Man your NMFBM is a chopping machine. Also I'd have to say you are too, left hand and right it did'nt seem to matter. But does this mean your going to clean up your FFBM and put her up next to your CGFBM for company. Then just start using your NMFBM for all the chopping from here on out. Anyway great chop off,and you keep chopping everyday like that and you'll have arms like conan one day. Thanks for the video's Bro.  :)

Nice in deed;)

Thanks

That's what I am hoping for, I am almost done with the log.

Yeah, beat on that NMFBM LE.

Wrap up video:

NMFBM: "there is not a sharp edge anywhere"

huh:confused:;):D

You know what I ment. LOL
