By this time, my makeshift cord wraping had riped, but thats not a big deal.'

and she is STILL sharp enough to make shavings for kindling ;)

Not bad for a 1/2 hours work with a $90 sword. ;)

I like the looks of your "sword". Was there any of the "shocking" vibration in the handle since it appears to be lightly wrapped?

Pretty impressive overall.:D

The vibrations depend entirely on how you strike. If you hit about 2/3 of the way out on the blade, the vibrations are verry minimal, because the Center of precussion is somewhere in that area. It not bad unless you completely screw up the swing, or hit something thats way too hard. chopping wood isnt bad.

The wrap is mainly just to ad bulk tot he handle. its only 1/4" wide. such a thin handle does make it stressfull on your hand. after 1/2 hour of chopping wood, my hand was starting to get sore. another 15 min or so and my hand would have been frozen to the handle. a thicker handle drasticaly reduces that. Its not a big deal unless you try and Batton. if your battoning, ALL of the shock goes into your hand.

I GOT it from the local cuttlery store. I payed $120 total for the sword and a matching 7" knife. $90 for the sword and $30 for the knife. Its made by Rittersteel; a manufacturor of cheap swords. There products ARE all supposed to be full tang and made of 1095, but they are generaly cheesy, historicaly inacurate, and quite dull fromt he factory. This model appears to be the exception; it came relatively sharp, and is more or less historicaly accurate.

I used to use a Cold Steel Latin Machete. This cuttlass out chops it, even if the CS handle is more comfortable.
