Chopper? Busse or Bussekin

Ok guys, now that the SYKCO 911 is up I have a decision to make. I have always wanted one of the bigger Busse blades to add to my growing collection (TB, AS, TGLBS on order), but at the prices they are selling for, I have never really felt like pulling the trigger. 911 has got me foaming at the mouth. So here is the question: Should I get a 911 or just save for a couple more months and get a B10, B11, or a Battle Mistress? I have heard that the ResC handles are simply amazing for chopping, but a BM has always been on my radar just because they are sick. This WILL be a hard use knife, so I dont want an overpriced safe queen. Let me know.

Thanks and UP THE IRONS!

I have had an NMFBM, BWM, Rodent 9, B-11, Basic 10 LE, DF CG & DF LE.

My favorite of them all is the B-11, followed closely by the DF LE & CG.

I think you will be very happy with the 9-11, but if you have the chance and money, you should get a B-11 or DF instead.

I ended up selling the large Busse choppers because I didn't like the handles & the NMFBM was impractical for my uses, and will likely part with the Rodent 9 even though the handle is great, because Res-C is king on choppers in my book.

I don't think I will be getting the 9-11 because I think INFI & SR77 are better steels for choppers. Plus I should have a BR or SBR soon and they are basically the same, except they were differentially tempered, if I remember correctly. You can't say that the price is bad, but to be honest, I was expecting less. It is only $10 less than the DF LE and the BR was $150 I think. I am sure they had their reasons and it isn't a crazy high price, but I had hoped it would be around $150.

Let me know if you want to see any comparison pics.

The 911 would be a great place to start. Then if you decide you want something bigger you can always get your money back out of the 911.
You really can't go wrong with Scrapyard knives at store prices. Then maybe a NMFSH or Mistress if you still want a full tang chopper.

I probably wont be getting a 911 but that is only because I already have 5 different BMs and 2 B10s and B11s. I'm still really tempted to though.

The 911 is an awesome knife. I have a Dogfather, almost the same blade, and it's a brilliant hard use knife. It will handle anything you throw at it. Great value for the price and yes, the ResC handles are very easy on the hands. That said, the fusion handle designs on the full tang infi knives are very good as well. But, for the $$$, the 911 is hard to beat. I reckon you get it and beat the snot out of it, well, try too, and make your decision then. No regrets.
