Does anyone have instructions on how to take the 15 in file i got today and turn it into about a 9 or 10 in bladed chopper? The file is a simons i got for $3 at a pawn shop. another question, does the file have to be in perfect shape to make the knife? This one has a place where it looks like someone hit it with a hammer, but you can barely feel the diffrence.

How did you make out with the file chopper?
Obviously I was kidding about Merlin's phone#... there doesn't seem to be a lot of tutorials on making file knives other than the standard forging or stock removal tutorials, which could be found with a quick search using the google bladeforums search link. I figured you wanted to forge a big hunk of steel like that one...
