Choppers on July 1st

It's green linen , just a little sweat and grime from battoning with it on my last beach camping trip

Got mine today too! +1 to every thing Justin said, this thing feels amazing in the hand. Now to find things to chop!

Got mine today. I have some thoughts I'll write in more detail but here's a summary.

It's not what I was expecting. There are aspects that I am pleasantly surprised by. And a couple that started as not so pleasant. I used it for an hour or so to process some firewood and do some light carving. The conclusion is that I like it quite a bit in spite of a couple minor negatives. More details and photos to follow.

nothing is ever perfect, but that should be no hindrance to trying to achieve it

Ohh I know what else....

"I run faster with the knife.... everyone runs faster with the knife. Pfffft"

+10 to your ePeen if you know that reference.

IFoS builds stuff in the woods and from what I have seen from his posts on the S!K subforum, he's excellent and very proficient at what he does. His critical review will be invaluable both to Nate and Lorien. The LC's limitations may be in terms of not being a can-do-all wilderness knife but it was never billed as such. No matter what IFoS grades this great tool as, it would be great for him to compare it with the best of what else he owns and uses in his knives tool box.

I think that every outdoorsman should have a multi tool/folding knife, a medium sized fixed blade and a big fixed blade. Maybe you don't bring them all out on every excursion, but if you do have them all, you have every edge you'd really need.

Not enough. You need bridges between the folder, a fixed in the same size, a medium and a bridge between the two, and a big one, with at least one bridge to the medium. And you need more than one steel.

Need.

I've got in-laws in town from Florida so I've not had a decent block of time to organize thoughts. I will tomorrow during the day and I have permission to go to the woods for as long as I need/want to on Saturday. I'll use it a bit more then. But I do really like it. And Justin is partially correct. I am not a collector. Knives get plenty of use. I think the LC can replace at least two others that I had been waffling between as my larger knife (chopping and batoning type tasks). Those would be a Rodent 7 and a Steel Heart Ergo.

I do have some "I wish they wouldn't have" and "I wish they would have" comments that are relatively small. And will be delivered with the utmost respect!

And did I say "permission"? Pffft. We don't need no stinkin permission!!!
