Just to be on topic, I wonder if the guys who have been having trouble have contacted CRK to get their knives fixed up?

Seems like they had not, otherwise I would have expected a follow up to their story on how it had been taken care of.
This is to bad-I think those that said they had problems with brand new knives, could have received exchanges or refunds from the dealer, and if they wanted to go through CRK likely would have been able to arrange no shipping charges. Customer service goes out of their way to take care of us.

Hopefully they do. It would be a shame to have a knife they weren't satisfied with when CRK will happily take care of them, especially after posting about their issues.

The cotton ninja has been quiet for weeks... then he comes out of hibernating spitting fire.

Gotta love the ninja.

Sitrep will be approximately 2 months from when CRK receives the knife, forthwith.

I hesitated in sending my knife in after following this thread..My comments and concerns are in there..

Here is the result for that member after a 2 month wait..I would not have been happy.

Heck, I don't know about quality changes...the last two I bought were made around 2004...and that's the way I like it.

FYI- That may not be as bad as you think it is. A difference of .003-.005in will look huge at that angle. Considering they are sharpened by hand..that's not bad.

I think in general, we have seen a great level of improvement at CRK recently. That speaks to me of a company still innovating and striving to be better and pursue customer satisfaction. A few things that come to mind:

-We have seen a long asked-for hardness increase on the folders
-We have seen the launch of the Inkosi. A fantastic, beautiful, and well-received design that improves upon the 25. People have been loving this knife, including the inlay design.
-We have seen the Large inkosi washers modified to close-off the holes when the knife is in pocket.
-We have seen a reboot of the website, including web store for parts.
-We have seen the military knives offered without serrations.
-We have seen amazing new CGG graphics for the 21, including the new Lazer-etch process.
-We have seen the introduction of the annual Ti-Lock offering.
-We have seen incredible new woods offered for inlays
-The things that make CRK special (UGs, Spa Treatments, no-nonsense warranty) remain.

I think, in general, things are going in a positive direction. If a few mishaps escape the eyes of quality control, that is certainly regrettable, but I do not think it speaks to the overall direction of the company. CRK is, in my mind, stronger than ever.

When did they increase the hardness, and to what?

Thanks.

Simplicity is the key to the brilliance. That is what keeps CRK top notch in my books as a great company with quality product. As long as they do what they were doing for the past 30 something years I will be the loyal customer and fan.As far as quality or issues changes, nothing really changed in my opinion and I do have wide range of CRK knives from late 90's to 2017.Cheers.

Damn my lying eyes.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Hmmm. No offence, but what emotions were you hoping for? It's a pretty trollish thread title if you ask me. But I forgive you, let's all move on. :)
