I have a mint condition Chris J. Smith CU TAC LL-1 liner lock folder with blue/black carbon fiber handle scales, beadblasted titanium bolsters, and a handrubbed S30V clip point blade for sale. Chris is the son of renowned knifemaker John W. Smith, and anyone who has inspected his work knows that he learned his lessons from his father well. Chris' fit and finish and build quality ranks with the best out there, and this piece is a great demonstration of his skill at building a using folder. As a part time maker, Chris does not turn out many knives, and his work is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
The CU TAC LL-1 listed here has never been carried, used, or resharpened, and the original edge from Chris is sharp. The opening action is smooth, the lock-up is rock solid, and the blade centering is near perfect.
***TRADED***
The specs:
Condition: Mint
Blade length: 3 1/2" from tip to bolster
Overall length: 8"
Blade thickness: 5/32" at ricasso
Blade steel: S30V
Blade finish: Handrubbed
Edge: Plain
Bolsters: Titanium, beadblasted
Handle scale material: Blue/black carbon fiber, beadblasted
Lock: Titanium liner lock, beadblasted
Backspacer: Black G-10
Clip: Tip down, titanium, beadblasted
For payment on this piece, I strongly prefer USPS money orders, but I will also accept PayPal or personal check if I know you. If you are paying by PayPal, I will cover the fees, but the payment has to be sent with a PayPal-confirmed address (including the green "confirmed" marker) listed in the invoice, and I will only ship to that PayPal-confirmed address. I reserve the right to wait for personal checks to clear before I ship.
I will consider trades (with appropriate cash adjustment) for custom folders and custom balis. I am especially interested in the following makers:
JL Williams
Tim Galyean
Charles Marlowe
Bob Lum
Sal Manaro
Kit Carson
Deryk Munroe
Gerry McGinnis
Scott Cook
Jim Burke
Ernie Emerson
Rick Hinderer
Jim Smyth
DB Fraley
Matt Cucchiara
Todd Begg
Tom Mayo
Neil Blackwood
Ken Onion
Phil Boguszewski
Flavio Ikoma (balis only)
Mauricio Dobruski (balis only)
I may consider trades for other custom folders not listed above. However, I am not interested in serrated blades, production knives, or fixed blades other than those by John Young or Russ Andrews.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
