Hi Everyone, I have been wanting a sebenza for awhile and am getting close to pulling the trigger. I cannot find a large bog oak anywhere available and this "store" on ebay has a few available. Their username is dragon-jb and they have several reeves available. They look pretty legit but I am just wondering if anyone on here had delt with them or a hardcore reeves nut can tell me of what they have is the real deal. Here is a link to the listing

It shows $25.00 for shipping.
Not what I am seeing. This is cut and pasted right from the listing:

Shipping:
$120.00 USPS Priority Mail Express International | See details
International shipment of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges.
Located in:
Burnsville, Minnesota, United States

Maybe because I am in Canada, it defaults to international shipping. I would sure hope it is cheaper for domestic USA.

It shows 25 on my end aswell but I cannot find a large bog oak anywhere so I am willing to overpay alittle bit to lock one in. I am not as concerned about total cost as much as authenticity however I would never pay 120 for shipping for a knife lol

Doing alittle more research on my end I believe the seller may be affiliated with spartan store in burnsville MN, checks out on the Reeves authorized dealers page. Ebay just always worries me.

Not familiar with the seller but everything in the pictures checks out to me. The fakers haven't gotten that good yet.

Oh I didn’t realize you lived there.

The pricing is right, it has the correct paperwork, package. It looks legit, don’t know if they’re listed on CRK’s distributor list.
id say go for it, you can get your money back if it’s not legit.
I’ve bought on eBay in the past from authorized dealers that have eBay stores.

Never owned a CR either but I've seen A LOT of them offered for sale and this looks about as legit as they come. Helps that the seller has 100% +feedback in 600 transactions (which is probalby only a fraction of all of their EB transactions) and has recently sold CR knives to happy buyers.

FWIW, I've purchased A LOT of knives and other things on EB and I've NEVER been punked or bought a fake and whenever a dispute has arisen, I've always gotten all of my $ back. I currently have a +feedback score on EB of 489 but I've bought/sold THOUSANDS of things there.

Of course, you need to be careful buying anything online (even here on BF; note the rash of hacked accts) but EB does provide some buyer "protections", as does PayPal and your credit card company when you buy things on EB and elsewhere.

Not so if you buy knives here on the Exchange by means of a cash debit, which is why I refuse to do so, unless I know/have dealt w/the seller before or unless s/he's a member of long standing with an established +trade history.

As always, CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Buy the seller. If they have a lot of feedback and a high score then most likely it’s legit. Also check prior sales from the seller and see what else they have sold. If they usually sell knives, higher end ones, and have good feedback from those then most likely they are legit. A little due diligence can sure unearth a lot of info
