Chris reeve green beret opinions

What do you think about the noss video. Is a destruction test, he breaks the knife

As I recall, Noss pounded on it with a heavy steel sledgehammer. If you plan to use it in that way I would recommend you go with a less expensive option like a Cold Steel SRK or even a Fallkniven A1. Kabar now makes a full tang fighting knife which may fit your needs as a durable combat fixed blade, and if you break it with a 5 lb. sledgehammer it won’t hurt your wallet as much.

I personally did not like the Green Beret in the 7" model......I'm sure it's a great knife blade/build wise, but for me the handle/blade angles just seemed weird. It really only seemed like it would be comfortable "stabbing" things, not for actual cutting tasks. Where for me the Pacific in the hand felt like it would be more suited to general cutting. I bought the Pacific and the Beret at basically the same time and very quickly sold the Beret. That said I wouldn't really use either of them for a utility/camp knife, most utility/camping tasks etc. can be handled much better by something smaller with a thinner blade. 99.9% of camp chores are better handled by a smaller knife with a thinner blade with a bit more belly and a small axe if you really need to chop/split than a 7" spear point knife with a thick blade ever can hope to.
