I recently sent in my CRK Large Sebenza 21 Tanto, which was in dire need of, CRK's Spa Treatment.
FYI: this Sebenza, was a pretty heavy edc knife that I had taken in a trade (& unknown to me), had a broken lock due to a bad heat treatment (which explains the problems I was having).
I called CRK, & spoke with Angela, & inquired about CRK approximate turn around timeline for my requested services. The next day, I shipped my Sebenza out, along with the CRK's warranty service form & included some cash in the box.
About 3 days later, I received an email notification from Angela, telling me my knife had safely arrived, & she would let me know when it was finished (she stated that it would take approximately 4-6 weeks).
On Monday, just as I was just heading out my door, a UPS truck pulled up in front of my residence & my LNIB Sebenza was safely back home. The turn around time had taken one month!
Here is a short list of the services that CRK performed:
- They replaced the back handle with a brand new one, due to the bad heat treatment on the lock bar, which had been performed by the previous owner (***Note- this should've voided CRK warranty).
-They replaced the bronze washers, all of the pins & screws with new ones.
- They sandblasted the remaining handle to match the brand new one.
- They returned my Sebenza, with a new lanyard & CRK box, looking in NIB condition (just as Angela had assured me it would)!
- The fit & finish on this beautiful Sebenza, is now perfect! The blade is perfectly centered, the lockup is rock solid & this is now as smooth as any knife I've ever had in my hands.
It never ceases to amaze me, just how professional the team at CRK, ALWAYS is, & why their sterling reputation is always so highly talked about. IMO- CRK is #1. You will be hard pressed, to find a better quality production knife, along with the fact that their customer service/warranty is absolutely, the best!
