Chris Reeve Knives

I picked up two CRKs this year. Large Sebenza 31 with Chad Nichols Damascus. Small Sebenza 31 with Black Micarta Inlay and S45VN Blade.

Why:
1. I am a collector.
2. I am collecting something from each state. 'Idaho Born' made it a no brainer.
3. Only the Hinderer, Medford and Spartans in my collection can compare. I would never try to compare Ohio, Arizona or North Carolina to Idaho...vice versa...

I'm on the wait list
Probably until the end of time
Great company with high end materials
Thought about cancelling my orders but then I'd never get them, so I'm just gonna wait
I hunted for four months, everyday at a dealer's site; before I got mine. BladeHQ...

Not everyday I see an obscure word from Dune being used!

'May your enemies' blade chip and shatter!'

Wow, made it to the 2nd page without any pics?!?! You guys have better restraint than myself!

What everyone else said, plus I never get tired of looking at them!

To tell you the God's honest truth I was always very indifferent about them. Thought I could get more for my money ect. About 3 months ago I had a random itch to get a Sebenza. I was amazed. There is something almost hypnotic about the action and simplicity. I felt completely confident I could do anything I wanted to with it. After I read about their warranty and spoke to them on the phone I was hooked. I now have 4 Sebenzas, 4 inkosis, and a drop point umnumzaan. Today is my birthday. What did I do? Went and bought another Inkosi (the blue denim house of blades exclusive). I have had a very very good amount of knives from different manufacturers and have never felt so sure about a good thing until I finally, like you, just happened to get too curious. It's safe to say I have guzzled the kool-aid and stand strongly corrected. Like others have said if it's not your thing you can sell it and not take a bath. Go with your gut man. If you think you want to try out a bunch of knives before you pull the trigger on a CRK then do it (I did). If you think you want to " buy once cry once" then i think CRK would be a great option. That being said i wish i would have bought one years ago. Here is a pic of a few in my humble collection.20221207_225530.jpg

LMAO man I genuinely look forward to your posts popping up. Long time fan buddy. I actually don't have a single tanto anymore besides a vintage cold steel gunsite 4" . Believe it or not I accidently bought a tanto Zaan. I ended up trading it for a 31 natural micarta Inlay s45 and $100. Then I bought the drop.

Inplaced an order for black micarta and black blade CPM-S35VN both pacific and green beret, placed it I think 8 months ago
The lady said they're still doing orders for November 2020, so.. it's going to be a while

Very similar experience for me, I had a pj small 21 years back and it never really did it for me. Then I got a large sebby with inlays last year, and it finally clicked. Have become fully addicted. :)

And here’s todays carry:

CR Knives are expensive, but definitely as well made as previous commenters have mentioned. Thanks to this thread, I went to their website, and was surprised to find a fixed blade in Magnacut. One of the things I always wished CR Knives would do is add a steel or two more in their lineup other than S30V/S35V. It appears they have.

I'm trying to find a list of the steels they offer on their web page to see what else they have.

They’re working through their remaining s45vn currently before switching fully to magnacut over the next year or so.

Chris Reeve is a funny maker for me, because somehow I end up collecting other makers, but my CRKs are all users. I think part of that is so few other makers make really nice, capable lefty knives, so I just reach for these by default on bleary-eyed pre-coffee mornings. Also, I split time between an office and more practical settings, and Mnandis are both functional and non-frightening to the pointy-haired set.
