Chris Reeve or William Henry for EDC?

I bought a small Classic Sebenza with snakewood to be my EDC knife. I tried many different carrying options, but in the end, I just did not like the knife. I bought a WH off E-Bay for $200 and found it to be perfect.

For time I spend in the shop, etc. I like my Leek in ZDP-189 to be in my pocket.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I've more or less decided on a CGG Sebenza (probably with the "Vines" motif). It looks sturdy enough to be used and yet more "dressy" looking and sheeple friendly than the standard plain model. Now I'll just have to wait for this month's paycheck to arrive :grumpy:

I have to agree with those who have said try to handle all three before you make your final decision.

I have a small wood inlayed sebbie. It is a workhorse but I believe it is just about the best compromise in an edc as I wear it whether I am in jeans, khakis or a suit. The inlay dresses it up enough that I believe it is appropriate in just about all circles.

The mnandis look beautiful but I don't know that it does anything my small sebbie doesn't and personally I just think think that it is a middle of the road choice between a WH and sebbie. Because of that I am not really tempted. I am also worried that it is just to small for my tastes.

WH's are truly amazing knives and everyone that I have handled felt like buttered perfection. They all felt fairly dainty to my hands however (the ones that caught my eye). They in my opinion are what a true dress knife are all about. With that stated however for the circles that I move in my sebbie is dressy enough (again even with a suit) and the absence of a pocket clip for me is a worry as I tend to lose things not attached to me. And before anyone says that that is what belt cases are for I challenge you to show me a place where they are acceptable outside of super rich texas ranchers and oil barons in italian suits and cowboy boots. (definitely not a circle I see myself becoming a member of ;) .)

That would of course be best, but since I live in Sweden, I think there is ONE retailer in the whole country for both WH and CR and that is nowhere near my location, so that is just not going to happen. If I should happen to really hate the knife when I get it though, I can always just trade it for something else.

I understand and yes in theory with the knives that you have mentioned you should be able to sell them in mint condition for little or no loss.

I have a small Gen Tac WH and a large NICA tanto Sebbie. The WH, while an excellent feat of engineering, feels a bit small to me. I considered carrying it but I really worried about it falling out of my pocket and me never noticing it. I think an excellent compromise would be a small Sebbie with mammoth ivory inlays. I don't have one, but maybe someday.
all da best,
rats...

I'm looking for the one EDC to end all others. I'm selling every knife I've got (except for a Spydie Kiwi MOPA that I just like too much) to get either a small classic Sebbie, a Mnandi or a WH Lancet B10 TZ from the new 2008 collection.

Which do you think would be the better choice?

No experience with the WH, but have EDC'd a Lg Sebenza for going on 5 yrs and can find no fault at all.

I wanted a small, and still do, but the large was in the cards and that's what I ended up with.

Hard to go wrong with any CRK folder.

I've carried both small Seb and Mnandi as EDC carry for work with suit pants, slacks and jeans. I'm probably in the minority, but the Manandi is my choice. It's lighter, easier to pocket (I carry without the clip), and does everything I need. It is surprisingly tough. All that said, you have three great choices and can't go wrong.
