I've been wanting to pick up a C.R. Professional Soldier for some time now and finely got my hands on one. The one thing I will say is the handle has to be wrap to be comfortable. It least in my hands anyway.
Again Chris Reeve makes top notch blades period!

Is that the original sheath? I've been wanting one as well for a while guess I need to bite the bullet and get one!! Btw nice knife like the way you wrapped the handle

Nice wrap job! Adam that is not the original sheath. (unless something has changed).

Agreed - that is a nice wrap job.

I have had one of these on my list for a while now - almost pulled the trigger in the Exchange not too long ago - but am worried about the length of the handle. It looks a little like a 3 finger knife for me - I might want a little more handle for a fixed blade.

Let us know how you like it once you've had the chance to take it out and beat on it!!:D

Thanks Esav - thats what I thought. Not trying to derail the OP - I just know that I use a fixed blade a little more robustly than a folder. I think my Nyala is safe for the time being.

Nice regrind!!

Toyz:
It is about three finger handle depending on your hand. But with the wrap it feels total diffrent in the hand.
Here's a pic to help you compare the two blades. Since you have the Nyala.

Thats not too bad - thanks for posting the comparison pics.

I think I need to pick one of these up!

I love mine! Here she is taking a walk in a burned out pine forest. I'm pretty surprised that these don't seem to get more love than they do.

I just got my Chris Reeve Professional Soldier from Northwest Blades. I really want use it as my EDC as a neck knife. I live near Boston MA but im afraid it will draw alot of attention and Im afraid to conceal it becuause of the laws on blade length. Any opinions on carrying the professional soldier as an EDC and what do you think would be the best way to carry it? least conspicious, etc...

The best way to carry it is within the confines of your local laws and statutes. Don't get yourself in trouble, nothing is worth the kind of problems that brings.

awesome wrap, will wrap mine like that as it arrives (a week?)
great sheath, really like it! great job

That Krein re-grind is amazing! Is that a full convex zero edge grind? or is there a v-edge on there I cant see in the photo?

mine and my 26th birthday present finally came, thanks to a friend
it's a 2011 S35VN and I love it
feels like a fixed with handles, awesome quality and finish, it costs but you get a great knife
