Chiro75,
What issue of Knives Illustrated? [I went out and picked up a copy of the June 1999 issue and no such article. I suspect that since it says "display undtil 6/8/99," and I bought it in a hurry on 6/9/99, that you are talking about whatever the following issue is.]
Frog,
I was wondering about that, trust a fellow knifeknut to find out. Thanks!
Maybe we can find out what metal you see if we post an inquiry on the http://www.photonlight.com / site. If it has anything to do with the batteries, contacting the handle for a long period, may drain them. There is a cut away drawing at that site under battery replacement. Further, sealing with a thin coat, so it still fits, of epoxy, fingernail polish,or similar, might help seal the case, if it does not disolve it. The outside case is made of glass-filled polyurethane (Polyurethane...hmmm...will the stuff you use on wood work....).
I usually put in the codes to make the links hot, but I recall reading that is now done automatically. If they are hot withoug me having to edit, it worked.
I posted some the photon micro-light info in the "One piece design" thread at http://www.knifeforums.com/ubb/Forum25/HTML/000228.html
