Ive collected knives for a long time. each has had their own problems.such as poor fit and finish. But this chris reeve sebenza is by far the best knife ive ever handled. Im very picky and it was flawless. Fit and finish is second to none. So save your lunch money and buy one, youll be glad you did. I posted this topic to save you all time and money. I have had a ton of other high end knives and sold them all on ebay to get a sebenza. Its been my edc for about 23 weeks and id never go back to anything else.

..and of course I've come back to the Sebenza and a large bloodwod classic in my edc. It is hard to beat the sebbie, and believe I've tried, but here I am again with the seb in my right front pocket!! :D :)

I've had mine for close to 10 years and only retired it this year in lieu of the Strider MARSOC SMF.
Mine has literally travelled the world with me, it's a perfect knife in many ways besides the construction...it looks benign, like a regular pocket knife, no serrations, no curves or double edges; the small clip and low profile does not make it stand out like many other "tactical" folders; the sharp blade and hardness of the steel make it a lethal weapon if need be; I've used it for everything... cutting my food, skinning a deer, opening boxes, etc. Literally everything short of as an actual weapon, although it was ready to serve in that role for me quite a few times when I was stuck overseas without ready access to a firearm.
I sent it back to Chris for a refurb and engraving and it's sat in the display case since. I'll still carry it on occassion, it's rotated in and out of EDC a few times before to be replaced by Emersons, Elishewitzes, Striders, Ryans, etc.
I'll definitely never sell it!

Yes I agree with all of these repsonses. I have a large classic Sebenza, with leather inserts. Without question it is the only flawless folder I own.

IMO,CRK makes the finest folders. I have the small regular and small classic Sebenzas, the Umfaan, and the Mnandi/bocote inlay. I guess I should pick up a large Sebbie next.:D

I agree. I've had many EDC's and my small classic wood inlay is by far my favorite. Perfect size for me, perfect fit and finish.....just perfect. I can't think of any other knife I would rather have as my EDC.

Oh, oh, where's Brownshoe?

Sorry, but everytime I see a thread about the Sebenza I expect to read about CRK's poor warranty support from Brownshoe. This thread has gone 11 posts without as much a peep from our resident CRK basher. He must be away, or asleep or something.

Heh, OK let me try and play the heavy.

You're nuts for buying the sebenza because:

There no way a "production" knife can be worth that much after all it's "production". There's way better customs out there for only a little more money.

Plus they have to exercise discretion when someone sends a knife in for warranty. You would have gotten your money's worth only if they had a "Replacement for any reason" warranty.

My god it's a production man! what where you thinking!

bwwhahaha how'd I do? :p

You did OK but it's obvious your heart wasn't in it. ;)

Yeah, I really felt it was lacking that "special something" Dave. It was a good effort though :)

I've been using my small Sebenza for nearly 4 months now and appreciate it more and more. The shape is the blade is incredibly useful for how I use an EDC. I would say there are other knives at that price level with more finish work, but I've yet to use one with anywhere near the precision machining and tolerances at that price point. If I feel the need for an everyday user at a larger size, I'll consider everything, but have a hard time not choosing a large Sebbie.

It is just a knife - I have a large classic. Yes, better made than any other production knife, but I almost never carry it. Generally my EDC is an AFCK, Buck/Mayo, or Benchmade 940TI. I will take any of those on a regular basis over the Sebenza.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I carry a small Sebenza Classic almost every day. The Sebenzas lock up very well. They are rugged, simple and easy to clean. If you need to take them apart (and put them back together) it is easy to do. Now and then I carry a Damascus bladed small Sebenza.
