I was wondering if there's any blade play either up & down, side to side or front to back I know some of the early one's had this due to an undersized pivot?

I found an email from you in my spam folder.

I am not terribly familiar with any Southard generations or backstories besides them being the original design the Spyderco Southard is based off of.

The Southard is a catch a release that I would have to check on, I decided to go with another custom and let this go. I am not at home currently to check to verify. Previous owner did not mention any issues, so I am under the assumption it is good to go.

I will let you know tomorrow when I have it in my hands and send a video to show if you like.
 
I appreciate that and a video isn't necessary if once you've checked it and say there's no play that's good enough.
