How To Chris Reeve Thumb Stud Dilemma Solved for $0, < 5 minutes, no drilling, no invalidating the warranty, no ordering aftermarket, . . .

I gave up on Sebenza’s decades ago when the Man told me to adapt my hand to his opening geometry.

That's what he told you? Everyone has different thumb shapes and sensitivity. Personally, I think they should offer various types. Seems like an ego thing to me that they don't.

That'll pop off eventually unfortunately. What about a magnetic solution, or are the studs ti?

I just left my Sebbie 21 stud as is and developed a thumb callus.
Yes but . . . you're tougher than the rest of us. ☹️

😊

My solution- Put it back in the box and leave it there, then get something better that doesn't have that godawful thumb stud.

To quote Jeremy Brett in Sherlock Holmes :
" Hardly that. Hardly that. "

or an old coworker of mine "Nah dude, nah."

I've been lurking for years . . . and years . . .
Due to spending all my money on knives my computer got too out of date to post here (but could still keep an eye on you all).
Good thing too.

I kept hoping someone would come along and say . . . (but no body did so I gotta do it) . . . (geeesh ya made me go out and buy a new device just to say . . .) (taking all that money out of my sharp things collecting funds ) . . . just so I could say :

By the way ; I've only got one CRK but . . .(I'm not saying . . . I'm just saying . . .) . . .

Use the flat of your thumb nail against the stud i.e., run your thumb between the curved cutout in the side of the frame and THE SIDE OF THE STUD and as you do the blade will pop open effortlessly and pain free.
🤷‍♂️

Why 'yall pushin on the pointy bit!??
Push on the, side of the stud and it works perfectly, like a disc or hole or whatever.

A design choice not appealing to literally everyone isn't an ego thing. Do Shirogorov or Holt only make flippers because of their ego? Do Spydercos only have a hole because of their ego? Not everything is for everyone, and CRK seems to be doing okay with the massive customer base that have figured out how to use their knives.
