Hey All,

I am committed to the purchase now as I just sent the guy the money for the knife. He told me "The knife was never sharpened, honed or anything. Blade is centered. I carried it few times but blade is as sharp as new. Scales have few swirls because it is titanium."

Lets hope that the knife is what he says. I will post pics when it gets here on saturday or so. Thanks for the advice!!

It's not a small knife. Honestly if you want something easier to carry, trade that Umnumzaan for a Lg. or Sm. Sebenza. IMO

one of the best folders you can buy, do it
I've used and seen many knives, the Ummi is as simple as it is great

you won0t regret it and you will see all other quality knives in a different light

IT CAME!!!! Photos to come soon when I free up. I have to say its actually exactly what I was looking for in a folder. Perfect size, perfect feel. Only downside, is that the dude ended up not having the box or the birth card for it. Oh well. Thanks all for the feedback, and I will post pics when i get a few minutes.

Congratulations! That price is excellent, even for used one & W/O the box & B-D card. I don't believe you'll be disappointed. I now have my 3rd Umnum after having 1 that I used for over a year (Not long after they came out). I kept bouncing between a lg. Classic or lg. Regular Sebenza before finally realizing the Umnum fits my needs better & is pretty much "the" folder for me. As to it maybe being too big, it depends. The Umnum's about the same size as a Spyderco Paramilitary2 & a little heavier. However, it carries slim for a folder its size. Again, I don't think you'll be disappointed. However, if you come to think/believe that you want/need a lg. Sebenza, I don't think you'll have any problem trading it for one of those.

Enjoy.

You made a great decision on a great blade at a great price. You can always have CRK Bead blast, stonewash, and sharpen it up for a nominal fee. If it is important to you CRK may supply you with a box and card for it(Not sure). IMO picking up a CRK lube or equivalent is a must have for self maintenance. Congratulations!

Hey All,

Thanks for the support!! Funny that only 10 people said no. I have to say I like the Skirmish, but it really cannot be compared to the CRK. The quality of construction, the finish, and the solid build are many steps above any BM I have ever seen. And this is coming from a diehard BM user that used the BM 9100 tanto as an EDC for 12 years straight. I have found the knife for me.

I do have a few other questions though. I contacted CRK to see if I could get a spare blade in case this one fails. A little backstory, I am moving to Spain, and shipping things to the US is kind of a hassle from where I will be. Anyhow, CRK Customer Service mentioned that they will need the knife for 3+months to fit the blade to the knife and so forth. Anyone have any good advice for what to do/get to augment my new purchase.

So far my purchase list is as follows:
-CRK Lube
-UMNUM tool

To break the blade you will need to be treating the knife very badly indeed, it's just not going to be an issue if you use the knife as a knife. As for things to compliment the knife, the take down tool is going to be a must, lube is good but you don't have to use the CRK stuff, I would also think about a sheath for it. I find that sometimes carrying the knife on my belt in a horozontal sheath is more convenient than pocket carry.

For the price you paid I'd have expected a scratched up beater and still been happy. If you decide you want your $270 back just send me an email. :)

Hahahahahahaa, No, It turned out to be amazing, just one small ding on the back of the blade that is not even noticeable. Its a keeper for sure. Nah, I think you are right in the respect that I will never need another blade for it. I just love to be overprepared. And shipping to Spain is the biggest pain in the butt where we will be living. Sometimes its ok, but the most of the time it takes forever to get anything. I am picking up the tool, some lube and something to carry it in, but i love the pocket clip. Everytime I use it, I have to wonder at how well designed this thing is.
