For you guys that own both- quality and prestige the same? I own 3 HK's and and am lusting for a large insingo- thoughts?

I think of Sig before HK.....and I have only owned HK's. The old Sigs were beautiful. My HK's I have a P7M8, P9 and a VP70z.

I hadn't noticed, but yeah..I equate the two. Not the new plastic pistols though...old metal ones (P7, etc.)

Quality? yes...
Prestige? Let someone else be the judge of that...

You can't go wrong with a large insingo. If you're considering getting one, do it. You won't regret it...

But... Don't buy a knife for "prestige"...
If you want prestige, buy a Ferrari...

I'd say Wilson combat:D

Wilson combat is leagues above a sebenza!

I would compared a sebenza to para ordinance 1911s. Better than a sig or kimber, but not quite a colt or a brown ;)

PS. HK pistols are lame. MP5s are sweet though!

I think of sig when I use my 25, the thud of the lockbar reminds me of releasing a slide on a 226. However the HK 23 is a heck of a fun gun

I think Sig and Hk are pretty much on the same level. That said I would agree that CRK and HK are on the same plane.

You thought I was being serious? Lol

I was just throwing out the company that has their own sebenza design ;)

I seriously hope Chris Reeve quality control ever gets as bad as Kimber's and Sig's. Of course, those brands were ruined by the same guy.

HKs and older Sigs were very precisely machine built guns using very large scale production techniques. Chris Reeve claims a level of hand fitting HK and Sig have never used (even the old 210s were 100% drop in construction.)

Chris Reeve is more like Reed Knight of Knight's Armament. High end, in house designs. Not reworked old 1911 designs.

Look up the Merc M11 pistol if you want to see a real boutique pistol. Fred Craig is the real deal.

CRK is often viewed as an industry leading, standard setting manufacturer. A manufacturer that has some equals, but no superiors at it's price point and purpose ("made for use" knives).

Unless that's how HK is viewed, which I don't think they are, I'm not seeing how the comparison was drawn. I could be wrong, just my $0.02.

P7M8--One of my favorite pistols I've ever shot. I had a chance to buy one 5 years ago, but couldn't pull the trigger, they wanted too much for it IMO. I still look for one occasionally. One of the ranges by me the people who work there and shoot there are very friendly, and I often let other people try my guns and try theirs as well. Having shot many, many handguns, rifles, and shotguns there, I agree that CRK is closest to the old SIGs.

I can't offer much in the way of a knife-to-firearm comparison/opinion, but if ya want an Insingo, just get one; I'm sure it'll get along just fine with your pistols. Good knife.

Yeah...what he said. ^^^

I'm a Sig guy.... I own a 1911 TacOps Carry, a R716 Patrol Rifle in 7.62 NATO, and the M11-A1.

:D

Oh, by the way...the highest quality knife I own is a Benchmade 300 Ball Axis, so, I can't speak of a Sebenza's quality.

Seriously, were I compare CRK to a gun maker, it would be Les Baer. The tight, perfect lockup and the glassy, smooth action of each are on par with the other.

Les Baer UTC.

Chris Reeve and Hk? No.

When I think of Chris Reeve and a firearms manufacturer, I think of Wilson Combat, for obvious reasons.
When I think of Hk and knife manufacturer, I think of Benchmade, for obvious reasons.

I still don't understand why people hold Hk so high. I've handled a Hk 9mm USP Tactical, P2000SK, Hk45, and Hk45 Compact Tactical; I like my Glocks.
