Truly amazing work! The inset barbed wire on the handle is really something, as is the barbed wire treatment on the blade. From previous photos I've seen, however, I was completely unaware of the barbed wire motif also being incorporated along the spring, and continuing seamlessly onto the spine of the blade. Truly a work of art -- hope it will be on display in a place where it can be admired. Congrats!

Hoping the owner of the small one is a blade forum member, would love to connect.Gorgeous knives and he makes some incredible damascus. I'd say he's right up there with some of the best makers. I'd be a nonstop buyer if I could afford 'em. The shields are really unique, I understand he patented the process. Here are two with barbed wire damascus that have actual barbed wire shields (or I guess a better word for these is estucheons as GusSharp68 mentioned). Too cool and incredibly beautiful knives!!
