Well I Finley got my Christmas exchange knife done (Last Years :o) and i hope it is worth the wait. This knife was made for Erik Boese who is also known here as TekSec. i put a lot of hard work into this puppy and i must say when you hold it in your hand you just want to keep it. so first off the blade is forged W2 and the handle is redwood burl with about a million coats of supper glue :D. the furniture is forged wrought iron that looks really cool, the guard has the most figure. The sheath is horse belly (leather). it is not died but just oiled to give it a cool old western look. the stitches are Nickle wire and the rivets are nickle plated. and the snap is just cool :D. i think thats about it so enjoy.

Let me tell you it was a pain in the A$$ soldering a wrought iron guard. the solder kept wicking out which covers the pattern and makes me cuss. o well i finley got it and learned a whole bunch in the process.

I'm pretty sure he'll love it...Oh, wait a minute, it's for me! Very nice, JT! That's a fantastic looking set. Thank you for renewing my Christmas spirit. :D

Looks good JT. Glad you got it done. I feel bad about all the bad stuff I said about ya now.

Jt better late than never I allways say. Some times the wait is well worth it .very nice knife. kellyw

what are you talking about i dont remember you saying anything bad about me at all. maybe helpfull advice that was not sugar coated, but thats how i like it. Thanks man

Sweet, now get it in the mail!

You're a step ahead of me. All I have is a forged and ground 5160 blade, an almost finished stabilized koa handle and a nearly completed silicon bronze guard. You'd think I'd have it put together by now and a sheath done for her already, but noooooo! Maybe soon, or I'll have to send my sad (hopefully not too mad) exchange partner two to cover this coming Christmas too.

You are behind too? If you are stuck just let me know if I can help.

Sweet. Delayed gratification is the best don't they say?

I'd happily wait until Sept for my Christmas present if I knew that was what was coming!

Good Job!

What's the blade length, oal on this?

Farmer Phil, Hey I knew you were good for it, never had a doubt. anticipation just makes it sweeter. I've just about got this years done, need to sharpen and kydex it.
Looking forward to the exchange.

Thanks James for your understanding and inordinate patience!

Thanks too Bruce. Can you send me some sanity? How about a bucket of free/personal time? Plate spinning and juggling skills?

That's good news! Now just help Bubba Doll finish hers....!! :)

hers is done :D. i had it sitting in the shop while i was working on something for a few days and i picked up some rust on the bead blasted blade :(. so i have to re mask off the handle scales and re blast it. i guess when we blasted it the first time we did not oil it and the moisture in the air liked the fresh exposed steel. it just light so a quick pass will git rid of it. but i must say I'm quite impressed with the work she did. it looks very nice.
