Hello,

I have read so many nice words and actions that I've decided to propose a GAW.

I've "forgotten" just one rule of the forum and placed my message one this specific discussion ( and not on the GAW discussion ) because it's almost the only part of the forum where I go .

To receive the knife you will just have to write "I'm in " and a few words about what you know or imagine about the french custom cutlery.
Of course the shipping cost will be at my expense .
I'll use a random generator to pick the winner next wednesday at 10pm local time.

The knife has been bought to a famous french knife maker, Marc Alfieri, 25 years ago. It's brand new and I've never used it .
It has an ats34 9,5cm blade and a 10cm ebony handle .

Best of luck to everyone

I’m in!!! That is a beautiful knife. I don’t know much about French Custom Cutlery, but they obviously do awesome work. Thank you for your generosity.

I’m in. The only French knife I’ve owned is a Douk-Douk. Minimalist design with a flair. Yours is elegant.

I guess I will have to be in, too! Such a beautiful knife. I have been on BladeForums less than a year, and have seen so much incredible cutlery, including many from Europe that are new to me. I don't know much about French custom cutlery. I do have a Douk-Douk and an Opinel on my short list of knives to acquire. Thanks for your generosity, and good luck, everyone!

:thumbsup::thumbsup: Wonderful GAW and a nice Christmas-to-come gift!
Not in, though, because I've received already some gifts from you, because I've received already several knives from Porch members, and because I think there are many good fellows here who deserve to receive this superb knife and discover another fine cutler.
Again a generous GAW, good luck to all entrants!

Very beautiful knife

I am definitely in

I have owned several French folders but all are gone and I do miss them, the lines and contours that the French knife makers use are classic, my main ones I had owned were by the Chambriard family of knife makers, very fine knives indeed!

This looks great
Thanks for the opportunity

A generous seasonal giveaway :) I always wish I knew more about French cutlery, and that I had more examples of it, so please count me in, and thank you for the opportunity :)

I'm in, but I also don't know much about French cutlery but a coworker picked up a French knife and brought it in but can't make out the maker the spring in the bolster area has what looks to be a bee but it is well worn.

I'm in. Thank you for the generous giveaway!

That is one beautiful knife, too.

I'm a bit of a Francophile. Having ancestors who were Huguenots, and being into knives (the French have such a rich history of knife making that I've only dipped my toe into) affords me a lot of interest. I really enjoy the variety of regional French knives, and I'm a big fan of the following patterns (though I've not held them all): Le Thiers, 5 Coqs, Yssingeaux, Aurillac, Roquefort, and Garonnais. I also enjoy the modern take on traditional French knives by several French makers: Roland Lannier, Tim Bernard, Romain Bignon, and Raphael Durand. There are so many excellent French knives and makers, and I hope that US dealers become more familiar and willing to invest in them. I'd love to get more opportunity to find them in the States (beyond Laguiole, which is the iconic French pattern).

I'm in. Looks like a fine knife, I'll admit i know very little about custom french cutlery. An Opinel is the only knife of French origin that I have experience with.

I’m in as well. Extremely generous GAW of a beautiful knife. I don’t know much about French cutlery, but what have seen I have liked. I have owned many Opinels and really like the simplicity, but also the utility. I really wish to pick up a Laguiole style knife at some point.

I’m in! That’s a fine looking knife and a fantastic GAW. Thank you for the opportunity! Good luck to everyone else.

Beautiful knife, Achille!!
Not an entry!! I have received much French generosity, and some interesting lessons about French and associated traditions, so I'd like someone else to benefit, and have a Happier Christmas with that knife!!
:)

Very generous of you. I'd like to enter the giveaway.

Admittedly I know very little about the French custom knife scene. But in perusing the French Regional pocketknives thread, one name jumped out at me. Nicolas Crocombette, the maker of this fine Laguiole.

These pictures perfectly illustrate why some people are drawn to custom knives.

Count me in. My current collection includes a Chambriard Knife a Laguiole Knife and a few vintage French pocket knives. Thanks

I'm in for this one! Thank you for the generous GAW :thumbsup::thumbsup:
If I'm being honest, I don't know a lot about French knives other than what I've seen posted here from time to time. I appreciate good crafstmanship though and that Alfieri looks exceptional.
