Guys: Sorry to have to post this, but the Christmas order will have to be re-named the "post-millenium" order. I got an email from Lalit, who told me that he could have the Khukuris here by 24 December. That would have been okay, but I'll be leaving town on the 22nd of December, so It'd have been a no-go.

I told him to ship them for arrival in the 2nd week of January. So, we have something to look forward to.

If this throws a kink in somebody's gift giving plans, please accept my apologies, and do let me know if there's a way I can help make things right.

Admittedly, I'm disappointed by the news of the delay, but not surprised; I thought we were calling it too close in the first place. But I think everyone understands how these things can happen. So don't worry, Craig, you're forgiven for ruining our Christmas (just kidding about that last part).

Well, I guess I *can* live without that 18" inch Chainpuri.
Finland for Christmas sounds cool.
Craig, how about bringing us back some nice Pukkos?

Well, I would love to, but I don't know about where they are made. I know they can be bought at Stockmanns (the department store), but they are a fortune! (read: no savings here).

Eventually, I will want to import them, if the company doesn't already have an exclusive dealer.

My wife gave me one for Christmas a few years back, and the handle is beautiful.

Steven: Yeah, I'm a bit dissapointed too. I had a couple of Christmas gifts coming which will have to be Millenium gifts now.

BTW: Steven, I have news about your Chainpure (I'm posting it here because I know you'll see it even over the holiday). I did finally get it back from Ken on Saturday, but I looked at the blade, and it has a defect in the tip (major fold line). So, it goes into the blem pile for the next blem sale!

Craig, not clear on Stockmann's. Is that a store here (US) or in Finland?
Surely there are some good working-class Pukkos to be had?

Stockmans is a dept store (the department store) in Finland. Yeah, I'm sure there are some working class ones to be had. Maybe I should call the factory while I'm over there. I'm sure they're sold here, but I bet I could use my channels to get them into the market at a good price.

I'll definitely look into it.

Well, Craig you know how we (forumites) are...always wanting something!

Craig, I'd like to cancel my order for the Micro Me. Email me at gsmoke@hotmail.com if you want to talk.

Smoke: No problem. If I haven't responded to one of your mails, please chock it up to the Christmas insanity! Do I owe you any money for it? If so, let me know how much and I'll send it out to you ASAP.

Otherwise, the "Christmas-turned-Millenium shipment is in the air, and should be here in about a week. For the non-special orders, watch the site for an inventory update.

Got the fax this morning: Arrival date for the first of the new line is 11 January. That means I should have them up on the site a few days after that.

Craig, we're all very interested in the new goodies and can't wait to see pix of them!

Also, maybe you could post a few pictures of your trip -- I'm sure that I'm not the only forumite who has not been to Finland and who would like to see a little of what it looks like.
