I just finished the sheath on the Christmas Knife exchange knife.
It is a "pocket" knife.
Blade 2.35" and OAL 5.25".
Sheath is Kudu hide (from Bill Moran).
Blade is 1080/15N20.
Guard is nickel.
Handle is mammoth ivory.

makes a nice little bird knife or EDC for the jacket pocket.

Wow! It's not only a great looking knife, it's a Stacy Apelt knife AND it has rare and valuable beautiful handle material AND it has some sort of exotic leather (kudo?) AND the leather came from bladesmithing legend, Bill Moran. Way cool, beautiful along with a little piece of history!

Stacy, Thats a fine looking knife! Who ever is getting it I'm sure will treasure having it! Is the kudu in the same family as the nawga?

This will be a treasure. My 8 year old daughter said,''daddy you don't never need to cut with that''.I think i will take her advice. Thanks,Stacy,Keith

Kieth,
I forgot to mention that I did NOT sharpen it. I figured you would put the type of edge you like on it....or leave it with just the primary bevel.
Enjoy,
Stacy

Thanks,Stacy.I think i'll keep it as it is. I guess i'll be like a kid with a new toy.I guess this is a stupid question, but not ever having that type of knife, can you tell me what i need to do to keep it looking good? Thanks

Kieth,
I give all my knives a light coat of Renaissance wax. It will keep them in good condition for a long time. Re-apply as needed. It is good for the handles as well as the steel. A tiny bit goes a long way, BTW. Also, put the soft cotton buffing cloth in a zip-lok bag. It will get more saturated and useful as it gets used over and over again. For a quick touch up, I just use the cloth, as it has enough wax residue to do the job.
