My family and I went to a Christmas/ Birthday party last night and had a great time. I pretty much carry the same gear on me everyday, hence EDC. I carried a mini barrage, leatherman blast, and a thru night t10. I used my knife at least ten times cutting open things people. I used my leatherman for a bottle opener and replacing some batteries in some lights. Then had to use my light when cleaning up afterwards. So my question is how do people get by without carrying the correct tools and what did you use your Christmas party EDC for?

I usually see my girlfriends family grab a kitchen knife to open a clamshell package. For some odd reason they grab the biggest one. They get a butter knife to use as a screwdriver.

I took my Jedi Knight Ultratech to a Christmas party last night and some people were quite fond of it and proceeded to tell their wives to put it on their christmas list. I didn't use it for anything other than showing people how it works after getting into a conversation about the newest Star Wars movies. I noticed my brother-in-law was carrying his delica that I gave him for his birthday earlier this year. Good times.

I bought a couple Old Hickory's, sharpened them, forced a patina, and oiled the handles with Ballistiol. Then gave them as gifts. Had the folks open them first and knives were available

The most used Xmas day knife I use every year is my victorinox cadet. Opens packages and the screw drivers are used a lot to undo the battery covers and install batteries. And is small enough not to freak anyone out. Awesome knife for Xmas and bday parties. Also opens bottles if adults need refreshments. :) I will also have my Grayman Dua too.

I'll have both of these on me tomorrow as I have two Christmas' to attend. The Runt will be used almost exclusively to open packages, cut ribbon, etc.

I used my Buck 119 to cut the tag off of a hoodie I got , and used the screwdriver on my Leatherman fuse to attach the legs to one of those little faux wood stove heaters with the simulated fire and all.

My carry didn't change as I was visiting family, and will be at my moms on Christmas so my carry won't change then either.

Our Christmas party was at a local pizza place. No edc needed.

Now, as we have begun to make the Christmas rounds my pocket knife ( ZT 0456 tonight) has come in handy freeing numerous toys for my daughter. My LM Rebar has replaced several batteries. My Beer Scout has liberated numerous beers for me.

Opening packages, cutting a string or two

With three kids in the house, I always keep my Victorinox Rambler handy at Christmas. Perfect for cutting ribbon, snipping off tags, assembling and opening toys and electronics to insert batteries, opening a cold bottle of beer for Dad, errrrr, Santa, and more.

Used my Wilson/CRK large Sebenza to open packages tonight. Some other Xmas in the past, it was a
CRK Zaan. The game is the same; the name is the same.
Happy Holidays and Merry Xmas...whatever is your persuasion.

The Gerber Dime got some playing time today. After awhile, I stopped putting it away and just held onto it with the package ripper opened. I’m usually the only one at the party with a knife so, next year, Santa is bringing everyone a ‘budget folder’. Tomorrow is the family get together. I think a Tuff Lite will nicely chop up any toy packaging to free the He-Mans and Batmobiles and Ninja Hippies or whatever kids like nowadays.
