Wow...it was a good Christmas this year!

My son received a new REI backpack, a niftly little Gerber mini-ax and knife combo (it's a pretty neat little axe), a new rock-climbing harness (he's really an indoor rock-climbing monkey!) and a few items I tossed into his (and my daughter's stockings): Plastic spoon/forks, Vic Farmers, Fox 40 whistles, K&M match cases and a space blankets.

I got my wife her own rock-climbing harness, Northface fleece jacket/liner (that we found out zips into her Columbia jacket!), Keen hiking boots and some new hiking socks (I won't mention the 2ct 3-diamond ring I saved for while in Iraq...it's part Anniversary / part Christmas...but I still get double credit:D). Plus a few items in her stocking...K&M matchcase and a couple of extra Bersa mags for her little CCW piece.

Now, Santa had to make up for last year so, I got a few nice gifts:

Used, but in excellent shape Browning HP
Dan Wesson Bobtail Classic .45
Charter Arms .44 SPL Bulldog
Gossman's Nessmuk and PSK combo (beautiful)
My wife picked up KaBar's little TDI knife kit...quite nice!
New rock climbing shoes
A few great survival/outdoors books from my Wife (An outdoors skills encyclopedia...quite good; and two books by Cody Lundin, "When all Hell Breaks Loose" and "98.6 Degrees The are of keeping you a$$ alive"...both excellent books!)

Oh, and my Fiddleback Bushcraft should be here in the next couple of days...my B-day is on January 1st, so it may get wrapped up...

I know Christmas isn't about receiving gifts...but it sure was a great one this year!!!!:D

I just have to add that my family has had transportation problems off and on for several years now. We have children and getting to the outdoors has been more of an issue because of not having something large enough more than anything. My in-laws have given us a considerable sum to help purchase a decent family vehicle for Christmas.

This, with getting the best job I've ever had in October and a nice new (to us) home with a shop (where I will start making furniture again), has made this an incredible year for me and mine. I hope all here will be equally blessed.

I got something I've been wanting for years!.......LASIK eye surgery. Got it done a few days before Christmas and I'm now 20/20.

I've been dreaming of this day for YEARS!

I got a rock.

But I bought my self a semi-custom Ranger RD-7, Mora 2000, mora 511, bunch of kydex and shit for making sheathes and a big greasy firesteel. Unfortunately all of it's still in the mail.

I got a bison designs belt, a vic classic, and I have a digital camera on the way

I might get myself a delica too.

I asked for special favors, and as of now all I have is an I.O.U. but I am still hopeful!!

As far as knives, guns, and guitars go, I would rather buy them myself.
