Sigh, I just donated my last free hundred to a disabled Marine's care fund. That's ok, I probably have enough knives and swords (for now) and we never can have enough good men....or women, for that matter.

Kev, well said.

On a side note, I'm really enjoying pics of the non-blade items that Auntie Yangdu has posted. Shows off a different side of the craftsmanship and able hands that the people of Nepal possess.

Happy Holidays everybody!

As a Marine, I thank you.

And as a former Marine, I also thank you. Semper FI:thumbup:

Yeah, those Karda's are beautiful. I'm thinking about one for the wife. Does anyone know if I can get a Khurmi (Sickle shaped ladies knife)? I suppose I should ask Aunt Yangdu.
Gruntmedik and Pugs, you're welcome, but no thanks necessary. He had a lot more taken from him than I gave. I was just lamenting the fact that it wasn't payday yet.
Oh, and Pugs, you aren't fooling me........there are no "former" Marines.
Just so we're clear, I was not a Marine (my brother was career- Korea and Vietnam) I was Air Force for 11 years though. Got out after the first Gulf War, woulda stayed if I thought they would have let us finish it then.

Sorry, no more thread-jacks! I promise.

Yes you should.;)

I seem to remember them being available around this time last year?

KR, very true, once a Marine, always a Marine. My hat is always off to any prior and present service men, regardless of there branch.

Somebody made a great score with that picture frame; husband-and-wife pictures would look BEAUTIFUL in that!

That Rusty SD is a nice looking little knife, but it's a new one to me. Can somebody explain what the notched side of the blade is for (I'm guessing saw, serrated, or fence cutter)?

The SD is a Nepali version of the Scot Sgian Dubh, which, if I'm not mistaken often have similar notching on the spine.
