I have an old shotgun with a barrel that looks like that. Belgian from about 1885. Beautiful blade!

I'll try to find a pic I have of it. I have a Parker GH and a GE Lewis (British made in 1878)both with Damascus barrels. They are just as strong as "fluid"steel if they are not corroded. Beautiful old guns and they shoot well too. I hunt with them every year.

Cool, its really nice to know that old damascus barrels are still in use.
I am actually very interested in trying to make some damascus barrels myself. I need to get in touch with a good gunsmith and make something together
