You can get a better grip on the Chubby but Techno has the jimping.

Chubby has a blade thickness of 0.172" vs. 0.173" on the Techno but as you can see Chubby tapers way down.

Chubby weighs 4.04 ounces vs. 3.52 ounces on Techno.

Blade length is 2.33" for Chubby vs. 2.56" for Techno.

Width closed is 1.612" for Chubby vs. 1.391" for Techno.

Handle thickness is 0.451" for Chubby vs. 0.454" for Techno.

I can see myself preferring the Techno, awesome comparison btw. If I'm going to carry a blade that small I want something real carry friendly and that looks like the Techno.

They both fit comfortably in the change pocket. It's all about choice and variety.

Thank you brother for taking the time to do this and show/talk about the comparisons. I had a techno and I loved it for the most part....I hated that there was no guard to keep my hand from slipping onto the edge. I saw the chubby and it looked like it had more of a guard for that...and its very similiar to the techno so I sold it in anticipation of the chubby. I'll probably pick both up again. Need to sell some knives first. lol But again thank you for creating this thread :)

Chubby is a little stiff and right now not as smooth as Techno where I can flick it open with ease. With Chubby I have to flick wrist it hard.

I'm hoping it'll smooth out. Will keep opening and closing with a drop of lube. That's my only small gripe so far.

Chubby definitely has a little guard and with the longer handle you get a more secure grip. I think the blade is generally more useful too.

I will get one and immediately change out that tiny tiny backspacer for a bigger geared one. I hate those cf inserts too. I've never liked spydercos carbon fiber. They always use the checkered 1x1 cf and Ive never been a fan. I'd put some lightning strike carbon fiber in there instead....maybe red with red glow powdered centers :)

BTW the titanium finishes look different. Are they? I like the technos finish.

After those pics, the Techno is now in my top 5 gotta haves.

Thanks for this thread Ramzar!

the techno is a great piece with nice small thick blade .. another that I would compared it to will be the DPX HEAT.

Nice early lock up on the Techno too. The Ti on mine is starting to wear more and more against the tang-cut.

Chubby is still not smooth opening it like the Techno. I'll keep at it to see if it improves.

Thanks for the comparison and the stats, RamZar! I love the blade shape of the Chubby and really prefer the look to the Techno--I ordered one today!

Thanks for the photos man. I decided to hunt down a Leafstorm for the thumbhole. I will probably want to pick up both of these in the future though!

RamZar, your pics and descriptions are outstanding. I am appreciative of the continuing efforts you make for our benefit.
I have been a long-time fan of the Techno, and have gone thru seven or eight of them...without ever carrying or using one. I have one NIB Techno now that I am attempting to hold onto. I saw the Chubby coming out, and it just looked too large for me. However, the grind on the Chubby is quite interesting and slims down the blade-width significantly.
I am wondering just how you would compare these two blades in their slicing capabilities. Would appreciate your comment. Thanks, and Merry Christmas.
Don
