Chuck (Charles) FOGARTY passed performance test

Congrats Chuck! I bet dad is very proud.

Hey guys, hey Chuck. Im new to this forum page and I am new to the bladesmithing world but this thread speak personally to me. Chuck is a friend of mine and I have seen his performance test knife before and after the test :) I already expressed my congratulations in person. And Chuck I have decided to apprentice bladesmith and hope I will have your help and your forge open to me until I can get my own up and running. I think its pretty funny I joined this forum and you were already a part of it ha. Anyone here have any suggestions on books and/or forums a beginner should check out? Again congrats on the test Chuck!!!

Hey Y'all,

Again let me say thanks to everyone who has congratulated me. In truth it has been looking at all of y'all's knives and wishing to attain the same excellence and beauty in my own work that has gotten me this far so the real thanks should go to all of you. Course most of y'all have already done this test so it ain't like I've done something that is unique, just a step in the journey. And a damn fun journey it is!!!

Ravenbladez welcome to the forum. Just keep hanging out in the smithy and you will be up and running in no time. This is what it is all about, all these guys taught me how to do it and I am teaching you and max how to do it and someday hopefully y'all will be teaching someone else how to do it. It don't get no better than this.

I will be at trackrock! Can't wait hope to see y'all there!

Chuck

Super work! Great photos of the test and they will go into the history books. Thanks for sharing.

BLGOODE

I sent you some pics from Chuck. I can lift heavy things but I am not so clever. I don't know how to set up a hosting space to attach them.

Chuck and Dave you are very generous with your comments. I am a smoke and mirrors man. I have had a couple of luck outcomes but I am no master smith. You guys that do the testing and learn the theory deserve the title and the respect that goes with it. Dave I can't get a copy of November Blade hear until 3/11/04. I put in my order.

I have one of Daves Cratchet knives as featured in blade and soon a Chuck Fogarty Hunter and folder. I am a lucky man.

Edited... Looks like I should have turned to the second page before I posted this message I see you already have Chucks pics up. oops Told you I am not clever. :footinmou

Hey, Chuck's a lefty! Nice going Chuck, those are some great knives. Brian and PhilL thanks for the posting the pics.

You guys don't believe it, Reg is "not clever" like a fox. I know his disarming ways.

Way to go Chuck. If you happen to see or speak to Daniel. Tell him to check his e-mail about Trackrock if he wishes to come.

Hey,

Your right Chuck, it doesnt get better then this. Ive looked at many different career paths since I left high school and started college and bladesmithing is the most satisfying one I have found. Hopefully I will be able to do it full time, my goal is within 5 years to attain journeyman smith in the ABS (id go for less time if I didnt work full time). And I do hope to one day pass the craft on to someone else.

Wish I could come to the hammer-in in november but its too late for me to ask off of work, wish I could be there. Hope to be able to make it to the next one, and maybe i'll have some experience in bladesmithing so I can ask some intelligent questions.

I needed to add captions and then I had to continue pics on another post.

That's my bud! Well Chucky, what's next? Looking forward to seeing you at Trackrock so I can pound your back a little. You know this means you got to show-out a little more this time. (Your bringing your trick forge aren't you?)

Boy this is great, looks like Mark and I have a little last minute planning to do for all these "special" guys that are going to show up this time.
