Chunky Acraglas?

Went to use my acraglas epoxy and noticed clear chunks in the resin bottle. Never had this happen before, and this isn't a new bottle, any idea what's going on? Since I was using it on a handle for a knocked together mini pry bar I was using on a roofing job I went ahead and used it and it hardened up fine. Is it just old?

Thanks

If/when it starts to thicken or clump up, just put the whole bottle (lid off) in the microwave a few seconds at a time until its warm, not hot. Once its warmed up nicely, put the cap back on, & give it a good shake. That will cure the problem and you wont have to do it to that bottle again. I don't know the how or why, I just know it works.

Yep, just like honey.

Yes, it can crystallize with age and being too cool. Warming it in a pan of hot water is best, but if done carefully, the microwave trick will work. Just be sure to use 2-3 second bursts with a shake between them.

Thanks, will give it a try, it's less than a year old, or at least it's only been at my shop for less than a year, Brownell's may have had it longer.

I once got a bottle direct from them that had started to crystalize, it's an issue of getting cold at some point. Once it starts it won't stop until you dissolve the crystals with heat because they'll act like a seed.

Acraglas has a very long shelf life. You just have to heat it up if it starts this. I soak the bottle in very hot water.
